I've been hearing about rumors for a new release of Black Templars, and I am pretty excited, I think the Templars are awesome.

But then I realised something, before the new codex I also thought the Grey Knights were awesome.

And so, I really really hope the Black Templar fluff won't be smashed, what do you guys think about it?

Maybe I just shouldn' t read the fluff in the new dex when it comes out...

I played BT for a couple of months after the codex came out, they were my last army until a couple of weeks ago. I used to love the BT rules, and I was thinking of doing a 'small' army when the new Codex out, but they cant feth them up THAT badly. Just go ahead and do them, there's always a work around for bad rules.

Nosey, ain't ya?

The only thing I'm worried about is if that pesky ward gets his dirty mitts on the fluff. That is all.

On a boat, Trying not to die.

Ward's fluff is fine. The BT book will be fine.

People on the internet are just all hyperbole all the fething time.

All Black Templars hate psykers, but some Black Templars hate psykers so much that they're able to manifest psychic powers of their hatred in order to smite enemy psykers.

And they'll be BFFs with Tau.

I revel in the rage that is to come.

Seriously though, unless its written by Phill Kelly (keeping in mind that the Space Wolf codex fluff is a satire of the over-the-top stylings of the rest of the 40k universe), I'd suggest just not reading codex fluff anymore. No point in even trying at this point.

Through the looking glass

From what I've heard in the news and rumors threads, the taint of ward won't be touching the new BT codex.

As my tertiary army, much rejoicing was had after hearing the good news.

Edit - Yep, so far reports say it's Kelly.

Edit 2 - Post count now 1337. Mwahahaha

It's the rules you want him to touch as a marine codex not the fluff.

Arguable. His rules, especially as of late, have a tendency to be incredibly convoluted without actually adding to the depth or strategy of the unit or army. Generally, this is because he has a huge reliance on having a disproportionate amount of special rules for every single unit, as well as requiring significant book keeping for each unit.

There's no chance GW will ruin a Space Marine dex, especially if Ward runs it. They'll be the pimpinest thing around and invincible in fluff.

I'm really looking forward to a new Codex, where there are more (the lack of units such as whirlwinds should be compromised by units with more hand to hand prowess) and better units(Sword Brethren need to be improved massively). There are a few things that will be missed (namely army wide Preferred Enemy, Blessed Hull and cheap Typhoons) but these will hopefully be replaced with more good stuff. With Ward, as long as he doesn't turn the BT into xenos-loving, heretic-hugging pskers then I guess all is good. and if it really gets bad, just pretend the new fluff doesn't exist and keep using the old stuff and things will be good.
