Good morning gents and a happy new year! In our last game we faced the following problem: A leman russ is behind a two storey ruin with a squad of guardsmen in the ruin. An eldar falcon lines up and storms towards it intent on ramming it through the wall. The eldar's player ally then claims that as a skimmer it can go over the ruin and ram the tank dive bomber style.
So my question is: can this happen? Can a skimmer (e.g. Cestus Assault Ram) "fly" over high, los blocking, ruins and ram by diving on him kamikaze style?

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

Ruins are not buildings, but area terrain. Skimmers, like all other vehicles, can tankshock and thus ram through area terrain. If the skimmer ends its move inside that terrain(the ruin), he would have to test for dangerous terrain. While in fluff he might fly over the ruin, per the rules the ram would go straight through it.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

LOS does not block movement. Anything can move through the ruin even through the walls in the ruin. Even your infantry can walk through the walls in the ruins.

skimmers also ignore terrain for moving, provided they dont end or start the move inside area terrain. (if they do it requires a DT test)

so yup - legal. although...

falcon A12, (2) + tank (1) plus 12" (4) = str 7 hit on im assuming front armour of 14..(because you roll on facing of impact, and i assume the russ was facing the falcon)...not gonna do anything. pointless ram. the russ gets a str 5 hit back on armor 12....

....

falcon: *bump* "well do you wanna exchange insuance info or what?"
Russ: "nah....there is no damage not really worth it....but hey...wanna see what a battle cannon can do?"

Unless the Falcon went flat out. He could go up to 21-24" and get a S10 hit.

Also the Russ still gets the added strength for how far the falcon moved. If the falcon did only ram from 12" away then the Russ comes out on top giving the falcon a S9 hit.

Yes, because Skimmers move over all terrain, even when Tank Shocking.

I don't write the rules. My ego just lives and dies by them one model at a time.

Right. Forgot bout the Russ applying speed of falcon to hit. I generally dont ram with things since its usually ineffective.
