A few weeks ago I posted a 2500 list and got some awesome feedback from cowpow and BS, got me a strong list with a chaos lord on it's tip and it felt pretty good, however i'm having some trouble finding the jugger lord model, which got me toying around once more with my list, also a nearly Jugger lord snipe on a knights unit got me thinking on how to avoid it (I gave charmed shield to my disc sorc, seemed more likely to get shot by stuff). So I came up with this list which replaces the jugger lord for a normal lord on steed and gives me some extra 50 pts to spend around so this is what I came up with:

Chaos Lord - MoT, Chaos Steed, Talisman of preservation, rending sword, helm of many eyes

Sorcerer - lvl2, MoT, Disc, charmed shield, Talisman of endurance

Sorcerer - lvl2, Talisman of protection, Infernal puppet, Third eye of tzeentch

Exalted Hero - BSB, MoT, shield

18 warriors - MoT, shields, FC, Rapturous Standard

18 warriors - MoK, halberds, shields, FC, Banner of Eternal Flame

38 Marauders - MoK, Great Weapons, FC

5 Warhounds

5 Warhounds

7 Knights - MoT, FC, Banner of Rage

Hellcannon

Total: 2500

The pros vs my past list is that i still get a really killy lord, having the same gear as a Khorne lord on jugger, and since it'll be riding with the knights it would get the frenzy rule, besides that due to MoT it gets a 3+ ward and LoS, on the downside I lose the extra stats on the mount (jugger vs steed) and the ability to stomp, still seems a fair trade I guess. Due to the difference on the mount costs I also get 7 knights instead of 6 on my previous list. On the overall list using the banner of rage instead of the MoK on the knights lets me get the MoT for the 6 ward which i'm not entirely sure that it is worth it, just being able to ward save one knight would have payed twice its cost so it seemed like a good idea. Finally I was going to run a 40man marauder unit and I still could if I took the MoT away from the lord however again not sure if it is better to improve the ward save on the lord. What do you guys think?

(on an extra note this also saves me 37 dlls on the juggernaut lord model which I'd have to buy )

Wow. I would be scared to fight this army...I think. This looks like a pretty cool list, and it should be considering that it has had two other posts to be worked one. I do very much like the list and the fact that you live a long long way away from me.

Don't believe what everone says, I am really a Brainboy who survived the weed wipeout and now I go on secret missions for Tzeench I can also control your mind. (jokes)

You could have a unit of 9 tacticals that are flipping off the enemy with both hands, they still have a bolt pistol and bolt gun.

I would invest abit in the bsb so he can be more sorvivable.

Maybe cut down the marauders to do so and just run them 5 wide because they will most likely loose a lot of wounds to shooting and you most likely won't be a horde with 3 ranks.

Are 5 wide still effective thou?, took me a long time to go for the MoK GW config over the MoT shields one :s. And regarding the BSB survival, i though of many options but at the end going without any magic weapon/shield seemed a good idea for the 5+ parry, maybe cut another 2 marauders, run them on ranks of 5 and give the BSB a dragonhelm to boost his armor save?

The thing is you most likely won't have 3 ranks that will get to fight if you are 10 wide.

With so few might as well run them 5 wide and have some ranks.

Might as well give the bsb the dragon helm the 2+ armor does help a lot.

its a solid list, but as a warriors of chaos player myself i find the points are better spent in having a big bus of MoT HW/Shield marauders. the 5+ ward makes them an excellent tarpit which can pretty much make an enemy unit ineffective for the entire game if you keep the marauders near the bsb.

Mind you i recommend this because it is a) cheaper and b) you already have 1 solid killy unit in the MoK warriors and another especially killy unit in the knights. so it may work to your benefit to have another anvil to leave your opponent open to flank charges from. receiving a charge into the marauders can set up your own flank charge well if at the end of their movement you angle them slightly meaning that when your opponent closes the gap, it leaves their flank wide open

anyway, its already a solid list, but this would give you a few more points to play with and possibly allow you more flexibility with your charges

I agree with cowpow16, the bsb needs the dragon helm makes him very survivable,

also try to put in a warshrine, the buffs it generates will help you alot, imagion a your unit of mot warriors getting a 2+ save!!!! awsome

Imagine t5 or 3+ ward on tz warriors (that's when bad things happen to your opponent).
Or you could roll snake eyes and make every unit stupid, that's always good times.

But yes shrines are pretty solid.

The mot maraudrs are a good tarpit but you can take advantage of their cheapness and good stats in another way.
I have run festus with them with great success.
You get a ton of buffs and you get one of the best nurgle spells.
There is also the 5+ regen all the time other than against flaming but then hey are only marauders
and poisoned gw attacks are mean.
