X-Posted all over, 'cause I'm a bad person.

I have the good fortune to have a friend who is working on her PhD in Britain who would be happy to have me ship Forgeworld products to her and then take them to me the next time she visits California, thus saving me the exorbitant shipping costs. The only question is, what to buy?

I play Lizardmen in Fantasy (moot, since there are no Warhammer Forge models for Lizardmen) and Tau and Blood Angels in 40k.

So, recommend to me some models. What are your favorite Tau and Space Marines models from Forgeworld that you think I will most enjoy adding to my collection.

For the record, the fore-runners right now are a box of Pathfinder Tetras, something for the Kroot, and one of the battlesuits - whichever would work best as the only battlesuit of it's kind, to act as my HQ (though perhaps with a standard XV8 bodyguard).

Anyway, I don't know a lot about the Foregworld models, so I'm open to all manner of suggestions.

The Tau battlesuits are amazing, I'd go with that option, though I have no idea as to which one... they're all so cool.

Gods? There are no gods. Merely existences, obstacles to overcome.

You have a Tau army? You want the Manta. The rules are in Imperial Armor: Apocalypse 2nd Edition.

I recommend the XV9 Commander, he got a nice rule update in IA:A2nd Edition

Also, the XV9 suits, in particular the Phased Ion Gun and Fusion Cascade ones.

For something cheaper, the Tetras are a nice way to get more like markerlights on the table.

Wait until the next Tau Codex comes out before leaping unto the Tau Forgeworld Models, it will be well worth it. And be warned that Resin models need to be scrubbed/cut/trimmed before assembly, and that sometimes the Resin will warp in extreme conditions.

If your friend is bringing them on a plane, make sure she has them in her carry-on, or the resin might warp in the cold confines of the baggage compartment.

I just though I'd let you all know that I've come to the following decisions:

1) Buy a Contemptor Dreadnought, modify it into a Furioso Dreadnought, use it to kill my friends' plastic mans.

2) Buy no Tau stuff until the new Codex comes out, and I find out what I might need/want from overseas.

Thanks for your input, everyone!
