Oh, foolish child. You'll never be able to beat me. Lets face it, they built Tomb Kings saying "Hey, you know what would be funny! If we would make it like impossible for this team we are making to ever beat Lizardmen. So if two twin brothers ever were to get into this game, and one choose Tomb Kings and the other choose Lizardmen, the one that choose Lizardmen would win every time and totally wreak the game for the other! HAHAHAHA!"

The Restrictions I Put On My Tallarn Lists:
- Missile Launchers are the only HW teams allowed in Infantry Squads.
- All units able to take the FW Desert Raider special rule, must take it in lists of 750 points or more.
- 1 unit of 10 Rough Riders is required for lists of 1000 points or more.
- 2 units of Mukaali Rough Riders are required for lists of 1000 points or more.
- No vehicles besides Chimera Armoured Transports and Hydra Flak Tank Batteries are allowed.
- Al'Rahem is required in lists of 1000 points or more. |

I'm new to this game as well so i can't really give to much advice, but i did read other posts on army lists for warriors of chaos and was able to get an idea of what worked well and what didn't. Also you might find useful advice in the tactic forums in to how to fight the Lizardmen with tombkings.

Oh and don't worry I'm sure that the Lizardmen will go running in the face of death.

The last time I checked (correct me if I'm wrong) Khemri archers don't suffer hit modifiers for distance, so fielding some archers instead of a mass of melee skeletons might be an Idea, an with that In mind I think is what makes the skeleton archers worthwhile if anything, but don't quote me on there viability my knowledge of tomb kings is limited xD

chariots work well in groups of 6 and 3, the casket is trouble to anyone (makes them hold dispel dice back to stop it), horse archers are good because they are used in small units and will make you able to out deploy your enemies Being a veteran of warhammer for over 20 years now, i come to observation, that there is nothing like playing and playing again, you will develop your own style, use this place to developed your list, but remember this what may work for someone else might not work for you, never get discouraged, get even

I would recommend that you take two units of fifty skellies instead of one big unit. I don't bother with upgrades on these guys. I would rather have more troops than the slight bonus to saves the shields offer. Instead of a king, grab two princes. Put one in each unit of fifty. I think Khatep is a bit too expensive for 2k. At 3k, he would be great, but here your points are better spent on a lvl 3 or 4 priest for your hiero.
Dont count on the lizards failing leadership checks. As such, a sphinx with roar will likely be a better choice than the catapult and casket. Lizards have no cannons, so you can be a little more bold with him.
Drop the herald and necrotect. The bsb is less important for your army. They wont run, and the -1 crumble it provides is a pittance. The necro is not worth the points at 2k. Bigger games can fit more hero level characters.
Consider fitting in a scorpion or two. Entombed in the sands can cause chaos by picking off a poorly placed skink priest or even take out a small unit of skinks.
Your chariots would be better used in two units of three. Because chariots get no supporting attacks, you are penning up a lot of potential attacks behind the front lines. Think of it like this: Adding ranks of chariots is like paying 150 points for +1 str to your impact hits. Not worth it if you ask me.
You could drop the chariots for a respectable unit of tomb guard. You may need them to take on temple guard or Kroxigors.
With tomb kings, you absolutely have to remember that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Your units must work together to support each other, because on their own they will likely fall. You may not be able to use all of these suggestions at 2k. Pick and choose, but keep in mind the lizard's weaknesses: Skinks are squishy, casters are very important to them, Salamanders can't make your troops run, etc.

Could try Khalida if you think the archers aren't worth it. Give 'em BS 3 and Poised shots, along with a character that's rather decent in combat in a pinch, with a bound MM spell.
