So I got this: http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?prodId=prod1095460

And I'm trying to use it to dirll some hole in my ork's gun barrels... but I'm running into a small problem... the bit is just to small. It probably works fine for bolters, but the orks guns have much wider bore and it create a really tiny hole.

Any ork modelist out there can tell me what size of head they used to drill their guns barrel with?

Thanks

Thats actually a nice pin vice, although someone will be a long in a sec to shout at you for buying gw tools no doubt.

What you want is a nice mini drill bit set so you have a full range of sizes. I'm not sure about canadian stores, but something like this is what you should be looking at.

In my defense, I bought it with store credit that I won in a tourney, so technically it was 'free'

It's working fine too and is perfect for space marine bolters... but orks gun barrels are so much wider the hole is tiny and silly looking in them.

I tried with a dremmel too.. it is faster and it works, but a small mistake can poorly dent the gun, I was hoping for a 'hand drill bit' mainly for more precision.

Well they arent even going to make the tools anymore. to expensive to make.
But onto topic. Go to a hobby town or something. They have larger drill bits there. I use them.

Yea, the ones most SM players use are just to small. I use a 1/16 drill bit and its a PERFECT bore size for Ork weapons. You can get them in 2 packs for around 5 bucks or more depending on brand.

I use my exacto knife after I've drilled. Just put your exacto into the hole the drill left, and spin it while pressing lightly. It will create a nice bored out barrel for ya

I dig how in a setting where giant, muscled fungus men ride Mad Max cars and use their own teeth as currency, the concept of little engineering dudes with beards was considered a step too far down the aisle of silliness.

There is a drill set for the dremel that has plenty of sizes. they won't all fit the bit that comes with the GW pin vice, but most will. It retails at $12, but it can be found cheaper.

I use 1/16" bits ( don't feel like converting to metric - eyeballing, it's probably a tad over 1.5mm) for standard Ork barrels.
