So this song just came on which got me thinking as I wait for some glue to dry, which was what songs I enjoyed most from games. Then I figured maybe it'd be interesting to also ask the same thing to Dakka.
I'll start off in no real order.
Persona 3
Shoji Meguro - The Poem for Everyone's Souls
Devil May Cry 3
Tetsuya Shibata - Damned Chess Battle
Vanquish
Pretty much all of the sound track from this.
Megaman ZX Advent
Trap Phantasm
Metroid Fusion
Has a couple decent ones on it despite the limitations it had.

And heaven forbid if the Marine would also happen to have an intimidating looking, vertical scar. Then you're surly boned. Those guys are the worst. Not a chance I'd say.
And as a runner up, some of the Mass Effect music.
Automatically Appended Next Post: And lol I remember the Metroid Fusion music. That was pretty awesome. I've always wished they would make a first person shooter of Metroid Fusion. It would be like frikkin Dead Space.

Final Fantasy 6 Aria di Mezzo Carattere ( known as Cele's Opera Song ) The most memorable part of Final Fantasy series without the need for someone to die xD
The reason the octave sounds low is, this is a duet, and she sung both sides.
Final Fantasy 6 (Wanderer of Time / Overworld Map song ) Because we all walked around the map a liiiiiiiiitle longer just to hear it :3

Although not strictly the actual song... TESV The Dragonborn Comes:
Spoiler:
and a 5th one if I can find one later...
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.
Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.
"You need not fear us, unless you are a dark heart, a vile one who preys on the innocent; I promise, you can’t hide forever in the empty darkness, for we will hunt you down like the animals you are, and pull you into the very bowels of hell." Iron - Within Temptation
Going to go one song from each game, otherwise I would just pick all songs from Streets of Rage 2.
so
#1 STREETS OF RAGE 2 - Go Straight (an amazing soundtrack)
Spoiler:
#2 Fallout 3 - Easy Living (every song on this soundtrack is good!)
Spoiler:
#3 Bioshock - Beyond the Sea (another great soundtrack)
Spoiler:
#4 Fallout NV - Big Iron
Spoiler:
#5 FF8 - Eyes on Me (yes I am a big gay baby)

Harry, I'm going to let you in on a little secret. Every day, once a day, give yourself a present. Don't plan it. Don't wait for it. Just let it happen. It could be a new shirt at the men's store, a catnap in your office chair, or two cups of good, hot black coffee.
Minnesota, land of 10,000 Lakes and 10,000,000,000 Mosquitos
Ugh, hard to pick five. I guess I'll go with these. All of the songs are the orchestrated versions from Distant Worlds ~ Music from Final Fantasy, which is an awesome concert.
Dancing Mad - Final Fantasy VI
J-E-N-O-V-A - Final Fantasy VII
Opening ~ Bombing Mission - Final Fantasy VII
Opera "Maria and Draco" - Final Fantasy VI
And who can forget the king of Final Fantasy music?
One-Winged Angel - Final Fantasy VII
I've been to three different video game music concerts (Distant Worlds and Video Games Live! twice) and all three of them closed with One-Winged Angel. It's hard not to love it.
My Armies:
Kal'reia Sept Tau - Farsight Sympathizers Da Great Looted Waaagh! The Court of the Wolf Lords
oooooooh!!! One Winged Angel!!! How did that slip my mind!?
Brilliant song. Sephiroth's theme was great too.

Hmm. The entirety of Chrono Cross's soundtrack was absolutely mesmerizing, as are various tracks from Final Fantasy, Shadow of the Colossus and the like. But to pick five that are themselves the best? That...is very difficult to say. I suppose I might as well list a track that was most important to me:
Chrono Cross's "Radical Dreamers", by Yasunori Mitsuda, as linked earlier:
Spoiler:
Chrono Cross's "Time's Scar", by Yasunori Mitsuda:
Spoiler:
Radical Dreamers literally motivated me to learn the guitar so that I could eventually play this myself. And not to brag, but on my way to mastering this tune I became quite the virtuoso at playing the instrument. I suppose you could trace back my learning it in the first place to beating the game, which I wanted to play in the first place after seeing the opening from 1a which I got in a demo disc with Vagrant Story.
I suppose I'll post more as time goes on.

I never played it, but if there was any game song stuck in my head it was this:
DR:70+S+G-MB-I+Pwmhd05#+D++A+++/aWD100R++T(S)DM+++ Get your own Dakka Code!
"...he could never understand the sense of a contest in which the two adversaries agreed upon the rules." Gabriel Garcia Marquez, One Hundred Years of Solitude
Closely followed by the Golden Sun Sol Sanctum Theme:
