What should I do for a new Chaos Army?????????

Can you be a bit more vague?

What do you have? What interests you in Chaos? What kind of playstyle do you prefer?

I'm thinking of going Nurgal Fest on my army ???

So you're thinking Daemons? Are you a competitive player, hobbyist, garage player?

Nurgle Daemons aren't the most competitive but can be very fluffy and interesting army.

Nurgle Marines can be a bit more competitive.

I'll probably use some marines and some Daemons and say the marines summoned them as I like the hobby part but also want to be competitive.

You're going to want to pick up a copy of the Codex: Chaos Space Marines first then.

I would suggest looking through there and seeing what you like / don't like.

Right now, CSM with Daemons is an alright combination, but the daemons in the CSM codex are generic and do not have the same powers as their brethren in the Codex: Chaos Daemons.

I also recommend checking out some of the threads in the Battle Reports and Army Lists forum that refer to CSM, those should be really helpful.

For example, Mannahnin (a mod here) has a lot of success with CSM with Daemons mixed in:

i prefer cult but they cost more

Most importantly, before throwing down hard-earned money, test out what you want to play. Nothing worse than buying an army to find out that you don't like how it plays.

Also, you might want to wait as Chaos is slated for a new codex soon...

Thats true the new book is coming soon so you might want to wait a bit. Don't feel pressured to buy vehicles either, I've run foot chaos for years and I've done quite well with them just have alot of deep stricking/outflanking melta weps (Termys, chosen even 5 man raptor squads will do in a pinch). Normal csms are underrated and dirt cheap without rhinos and fists. The thing about chaos is their are alot of crap units, possessed are crap, dreds are crap, lesser deamons are crap, bikes are crap, the land raiders are crap. Not to say they dont have a build or two they can be useful in but overall they're just not worth it. good luck

Both armies, CSM and Daemons, are rather mono-dimensional when you what to play them at the competitive level.
