I was wondering what races would smoke? I know Eldar wouldn't. Dark Eldar would. Guard do, no effect on Marines so no reason to. Any others? What do you guys think.

thats about it really, tau wouldnt, normal eldar wouldnt, nids would just consume it for its bio-matter, orks do, guard do, marines probably would too (chaos included), and dark eldar would. Thats all the main alien species so...

Why wouldn't the Craftworld Eldar smoke? Maybe not cigarettes or cigars, but they might use those Middle-Eastern smoking...jars?

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

The proper term is a hookah, I believe. And they wouldn't smoke because pleasure made Slaanesh eat most of 'em so now they hate physical pleasure which is what smokin' is.

Thanks. I think might just use a hookah instead of cigarettes and cigars.

There's a million habits you could ask about and the answer would be the same: unconfirmed but plausible. It seems that orks sometimes do things humans do, like smoke. The others are largely unconfirmed since canon doesn't care if a Tau smokes or how a carnifex poops or if eldar play video games. I wonder why.

Hookahs are where it's at. Little tobacco, lots of flavor and a smooth non-acidic taste. Yeah!

Anyhow, I question why the Tau would not smoke, wouldn't the earth caste grow some sort of smokable crop to sell the everyone as sort of a pleasantry crop. Not a luxury one mind you as all are equal but rather one to simply enjoy the time off

I see dark eldar as Heroin sort of characters, maybe Methamphetamines. Smoking seems above them.

I can see space marines smoking, or more commonly found amongst their IRL counterparts, dipping. The Marines dip a lot. I've seen a lot of combat footage where a bunch of dude's lips are just full of the stuff. Nasty habit, really. Puts your hands where they don't need to be and eventually causes mouth cancer.. Bleck.

Dark Eldar wouldn't bother with cigarettes. They probably don't get out of bed every morning without shooting drugs stronger than crystal meth.

No, they use ESSENCE OF OZZY AND KEEF.

The only drug in the galaxy strong enough to get 'em off.

I would suggest essence of tyler & perry ( aka the toxic twins Steve tyler and joe Perry from areosmith. Along with Keef probley supplied a few cartel moguls with their 401K seed money.)

Perhaps Tyler and Perry were what it was cut with, to extend it.

Essence of ozzy has been known to kill lesser men, after all. And we don't know WHY Keef still lives.

Space Wolves tho, I can see them with cigars bigger then a normal human arm.

Anyway, I agree with Squig. Most of the races could, plausibly.

Can't see that, to be honest. Space Wolves get drunk, certainly, but I can't see them smoking. Orks now, they obviously smoke cheroots, or at least their Burna's do. I could see a Captain of Deathwatch, with silver hair, smoking half a cigar, punching in xenos heads and announcing that he loves it when a plan comes together.

Oh God-Emperor, image of Deathwatch Drop Pod in my mind now, dropping towards a planet, black with a bright scarlet stripe slashing up it, with the A-Team music resounding across my mind.

Must admit, I'm still rather liking the idea of Oscar Wilde Astartes. Perhaps I should make them a Chapter, with each Marine named 'Ernest'.
