I was wondering if anybody else on Dakka played Halo wars? Me and a few of my buddies are always looking for more people to play with on XBL.

Never really had fun on it.
I was used as a damage soak for my team mates, got boring pretty fast.

When it drops to cheap enough I'll buy a copy.

But I prefer RTS games on the PC.

Ya, me to. But I think they did the controls for it pretty well for a console RTS.

oh yeah, for a console RTS is was done brilliantly. One of the best for a console.

But it's still a console RTS.

I keep liking the look of it, but everyone I know hates it so it's delayed me from determining that myself.

Why don't you download the demo?

Most of the people that don't like the game either hate console RTSs in general, or don't like the fact that someone besides bungie made the game.

In regards to console RTSs I'm hoping they do something impressive with motion capture using Kinect or have a few proper ones on the next wii thing they're doing with that touch screen controller.

As it is I'm dissapointed there aren't more RTS (or tower defence) games on the DS.

Ya, I hope theirs more RTS games in the future using Kinect.

I think a RTS/Tower defense for the 3DS would be pretty sweet.

currently all we have for DS rts wise is Advance Wars I think.. but even then thats still not quite.

TD you have ninjatown which is frankly brilliant and desktop td which is meh. And plants vs zombies which is great.

Ultimately I would love a direct port of things like starcraft, warcraft 2, tiberium sun, mech commander etc on the DS, tablets and even the 360 / wii. Classic strategy games that will run on these and be controlled via touchscreen or kinecty things in a glorious battlefield control system.

Oh.... Why didn't I think of that? I'm fine with console RTS's. They're not a big deal with me. And who cares what company made it? 343 took over halo and TBH, they're doing a good job.

I liked to it.

But it seems it's one of those love it or hate it games.

Ya, I like the cinematics much more that I liked 'Reaches. Their amazingly well done.

I never really go into the multiplayer on this, however I really enjoyed the story missions. Each was well done with some interesting primary and secondary objectives.

I was actually opposite of that, I can't keep myself away from Multiplayer, and I just can't get into the story mission. They're extremely well done, but I just can't keep with it.

Awwh man, I need to get back my copy of Halo Wars... also, I got Halo Wars limited edition at a tournament(beating my brother who was at the tournament was worth it though).
