Well guys after a couple of small conversions here and there for my IG army I decided to try something a lil more challenging. I used the dark eldar jet bikes and bits from my stash to get the main shape and then plasticard and greenstuff to smooth it out. Now I know it isn't the best picture but I only have my phone right now. Anyway my plan is to remove some more of the dark eldar details and then add some more details to the flamer and add rivets and saddlebags to the bike itself.

Well let me know what you think so far and also if you guys can give me some suggestions for details on the sides of the front half of the bike I would appreciate it. So far all I can think of is rivets and some guitar string cables running to the flamer.

Oh and this is going to be taking the place of a scout sentinel in my army

I like it! In my opinion they look alot like the jet bikes from star wars, but less flimsy, which is good for IG:

I like the overall idea, but the legs look a little too "elf'ish", so if I were you I'd greenstuff them to bulk them out and make them look a little more like IG legs. Other then that one thing, fantastci work!

I like yours too, looks really detailed.

Looks good so far. I can still see a few gems kicking about that will need dealt with, but its a great start. I think that the rider is still a bit too eldar-ey for a Guard model. The head swap helps, but all Guardsmen are a bit chunkier than either of the eldar ranges.

In terms of more details, if you can get hold of some imperial eagles, I'm thinking that the sides of the nose could do with some adornment. Either that or the IG winged skull. If you cut the larger vehicle one in half it will fit better and the bits will go twice as far

Flamer on a jetbike? This will end in tears.

I really like it. Some better pics that are in focus will help though.

Oh so sad but oh so true. Same reason why you don't see landspeeders with heavy flamers too often, it's just suicide. Gotta say it makes for a sweet looking model though!

Looks good.

A tip for taking photos with a cellphone camera is to put the model on a piece of white paper, it helps the camera to know where to focus (on the model) better.

Okay guys I did a lil more work on this thing after work yesterday but unfortunately I am still using the crappy camera on my phone, tomorrow I will try to post some decent pics on here as soon as I get a hold of a decent camera.

Yeah I tried it but my phone only has a 3.2 megapixel camera so it can only focus so much.

Go right ahead, I find it quite flattering that someone wants to use one of my conversions. In fact if there is enough demand for one I can make a lil tutorial (with better pictures) since I have to build two more for the squadron.

lord_blackfang wrote:Flamer on a jetbike? This will end in tears.

Not necessarily, it is all a matter of pressure and angle.

Yeah I got most of the out of place gems and smoothed out the spikes on the exhaust but I decided to leave the gems on the engine because I figured that since it has an anti-grav engine it might as well look a lil alien. And as for the front of the bike I decided to just add some more plasticard and fill it out, however I did add some saddlebags to the back which have the aquila on it so it looks imperial.
Also I used the female pilot for this bike so the slenderness really isn't an issue in terms of normal guardsmen and besides how can you have bike without having a female rider with tight leather on it

PS Again sorry about the bad pictures, but please put up with it for a lil while longer, and again please let me know what you think.

How close are you holding the camera? each camera lense has a focal length and you need to be a litttttle bit further away

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

Also, if your phone has macro mode (I'm not sure if phones can do that...) you will want to use that.

My phones focal point is about 2ft away so it really wouldn't make a difference/

Unfortunatley my phones does not have a macro setting which is why I have to go borrow a camera that does.

I forgot to mention that you need to angle the photo so that the white paper is the only background you can see in the photo. That way the only think the camera (hopefully) will focus on is the model. The table and other background details may be why it didn't work, but like you said it might just be the camera. I'm in the same boat as you camera-wise, so I feel your pain.

Back on topic, I can make out the details a little better in these photos, it look's great
