A lot of people have told me to get more 3 more trolls, and i agree but the ones i have are forge world so i'll get another set when i can....for now let's assume i only have 3 available =) Not looking for power gamer advice, just general tips/thoughts thanks!

The mok warriors with ahw seem like a good idea but halberds will get the trick done better and cheaper, the extra strength is really useful.
Maybe give the mok warriors the banner of eternal flame.

Maybe give the knight a musician as well those can come in really really handy.

Trolls are more effective when there are more of them rather than just 3.
Sadly you dont have more so maybe wait till you get more because 3 trolls isnt really enough to do much.

Giant is a big target and isnt really going to do much just as a heads up.
A smart opponent will kill that giant asap so dont expect him to do much or you will be let down, if he does something that is a bonus.
If you have spare points giving him mos, if he ever makes it to combat it will be really funny.

The lords and heroes is something everyone has to play around with themselves.
A suggestion tho, the ax of khorne is quite expensive for what it does. If you have 5 more points the chaos rune sword will give you a pile of bonuses rather than just the plus str and killing blow.

The hellcannon is solid and the warshrine is pretty helpful.

I agree with a lot of what cowpow has stated.

As of current, your list seems to be really lacking in numbers for a 2500pt game. I'd say drop the Trolls (until you have more, as said) and giant to throw in some cheap flail or gw marauder units as that will be a very big help. Maybe even try to fit in another unit of hounds.

Definitely try to play around with the character builds. Personally I like to keep my BSB protectively geared. Since you have MoK hes likely going to hit hard anyways, and since bsb's are generally large targets in combat and such a big part of fantasy now, I find it better off to keep them fit for defense.

Since your only Sorcerer is lvl 2, consider taking a Dispel Scroll. The last thing you want is one of the bigger spells taking out a good portion of your army, especially since as is there isn't too much to take out!

But all in all, I say the biggest concern I see is numbers.

Hello!
Characters: I would suggest the classic SorcLord/bsb combo. The addition of strong magic really helps WoC. Saving points on the other hero helps bulk out the army.

Warriors: In general 18 men will be more than enough, so you could tone down blocks for spare points... Shield unit is good, although bus formation isn't playing to the units strong suit, you have a lot of options and a large chunk of hard to get points.
Ahw unit could use more protection, perhaps marking them Tz, since 3 attacks will mulch most anything anyway. And/Or you could invest in a blasted standard instead of the razor banner.

Knights: MoN is pretty meh, I would just mark them khorn and save the rest.

So 150ish saved from heros, 50 ish from knights and however much from warriors could get you another units of marked knights, 3 dragon ogres, or a large block of marauders.

Looks good, let us know how the bat reps turn out.

Fantasy: 4000 - WoC, 1500 - VC, 1500 - Beastmen
40k: 2000 - White Scars

Thanks for the replies.

I played a game with 3k instead, same list above but added:
+1 Knight

18 strong marauders w/flails

marked the giant slaneesh
marked the shrine Tzeentch

added Festus the leechlord to the khorne unit.

added 5 more hounds to that unit


I played against a really great Orks and goblins army, something like:

massive horde of big uns with 2handweapons, BSB with the magic item denial banner, lvl 4 wizard, something like 40 dudes in the unit...
massive horde of goblins with spears and nets and like 2 little wizards, something crazy like 50+ models in it.
2 Manglers squig units
2 Death divers
2 pump wagons
2 units of 6 strong trolls
Big spider with goblins on top
warboss general on wyvern

His army was really good at giving out strength 6 attacks that made my toughness and armor pointless... I think i only managed to stop 1 of his spells all game, i'd like to believe being down by only 2 shouldn't have made as big a difference..i was pretty capable of getting spells off myself though. He casted the mega stomp spell every turn, one turn it stomped my khorne unit 3 times, and my trolls as well.....

My giant was the MVP by far, he fought the spider and one the second round of combat yelled at it sending it fleeing, then he caught it and i presume ate it. My Knights charged the mega block in the flank but failed so bad they killed exactly 1 ork (thanks in no small part to their banner turning off both my weapons and the rage banner), but the orks had to follow them which sent the big block toward the giant and away from the watchtower. The giant held them up and gave my opponent pause when he yelled at them as well, they were in a forest at the time so were not steadfast and no where near the general...but they made the check so he really just delayed them.

My lord some how managed to get hit by the foot on turn 2, failed his 2+ look out sir, got wounded, failed his 2+ charmed shield, failed his 6+ armor, and failed his 4+ ward suffering 2 wounds from it.... But later he killing blowed the warboss and generated a much needed magic resist(3) from the eye of the gods. He joined my Tzeentch block in the tower making them all but immune to the Foot of doom and winning me the game.

My marauders did almost nothing, the warhounds did nothing, the trolls did nothing...

I think i'll try a big horde unit of warriors next..maybe a 37 man unit with MoK, halbreds, shields, rapturous standard, with festus, lord, and BSB in it....seems like fun =)

Hounds dont really do much they are there so you can out deploy your opponent.

Marauders I find to be effective at 40+ with mok and gw in horde.

Trolls also more effective if there are more of them.

Its a matter of getting experience and seeing what your units can do.
