I always wondered what they look like on the surface (the planets in the eye of terror). I'm guessing hellish, like oblivion in the elder scrolls. What do you think they look like?

If you read "Bllodquest" you could saw it.
Landscape is hellish and all ground seems like it is burning. Skies are red and twisted. There are oceans that are filled with monsters. Daemons walk on it's surface and on some world traitor Marines fight each other until there is only one standing. Direct exposure to this could make a normal Human mad, only Astartes seems to be immune to this and be able to actually live in Chaos realm.
And do not trust to Chaos followers here who will tell you that Daemons worlds are full of happiness, joy and flowers. And that you should try it.

The Emperor doesn't have a GKs unshakable faith in the Emperor which is....basically himself?

It looks like whatever the Demon that rules over the planet wants it to look like.

Not always, Coa. The novel Daemon World described something like that under the Khornate Daemon Prince, but it can also be 'normal', as far as a Daemon World can be called normal.

I should have left him there. He had served his purpose. He owed me nothing - yet he gave himself to me willingly. Why? I know not. He is nothing more than a pathetic human. An inferior race. A mon-keigh. But still I broke off my wings so that I might carry him easier. I took him from that place, into the snowstorm where our tracks will not be found. He is heavy. And he is dying. And he is slowing me down. But I will save him. Why? I know not. He is still warm. I can feel his blood ebbing across me. For every beat of his heart, another, slight spill of heat. The heat blows away on the winter wind. His blood is still warm. But fading. And I have spilled scarlet myself. The snow laps greedily at our footsteps and our lifeblood, covering them without a trace as we fade away.

Anyway, daemon worlds are not meant to humans (or mortals) to live upon. They are utterly beyond what any human mind can stand.
In short, if you are planning to develop a daemon world for your daemon prince/CSM army, feel free to design it as you wish.

Eidolon is split into 4 and is ruled by each of the Chaos Powers and each part is the way the ruling Daemon wants it to be.

Pretty much whatever the owner wants them to. Mendrenngard or whatever the Iron Warriors call it is a planet sized fortress, and that's a daemon world. Fulgrim's world is probably made of cocaine, like Doomrider's bike. Mortarion's world looks just like Barbarus.

Arguing with some people is like playing chess with a pigeon. You can play the best chess in the world, but at the end of the day the pigeon will still knock all the pieces off the board and then gak all over it. |

Not a world, but I remember reading some of Slaanesh's realm looks like this.
But more purple flowers.
As for the worlds, if the Inquisitor trilogy is still canon, some of them are rather disturbing and involved some of the "buildings" moving towards other "buildings"...

Just the flowers, it's where the Seekers live and have to be captured.

I read somewhere that in slaanesh's dominion that he's got a golden palace where daemonettes laugh and play with the acended chaos followers (They torture them) So they basically chaos worlds look like what a god's paradise would be? Khorne has rivers of blood and skulls everywhere Nurgle has poop and disease everywhere and the sky's green Tzeentch has museums of modern art (I honestly can't picture his world) Slaanesh just has a night club

Tzeentch's world[s] would resemble something more of Escher's architecture and designs. Impossible geometry and endless deviations.

Reminds me of certain Lovecraftian themes of "impossible and unreal geometries".

I was thinking of that and a mix of Harry Potter styled moving (read: changing) stairs and floors. A world in constant movement + impossible geometry.

Yeah - it varies world to world, depenant on what influences are there.
Some could be a massive lovecraftian nightmare, some could be like modernday london or new york (which to be fair, is its own nightmare )
