Here is my newest project, the Taurus Pattern APC for my 40k Imperial Guard!

Fluff: The Taurus Pattern APC is a wheeled variant of the common Chimera tank and is mainly used by specialised Imperial Guard Regiments for street fighting or reconaissance tasks in open terrain like sand deserts. While it shares many components with the Chimera, the Taurus´s four-wheeled design enables it to travel at much higher speeds on streets or any other flat terrain. Additionaly the wheeled suspension can be adjusted in height, allowing the Taurus to pass over rubble or other smaller obstacles when needed.

The Taurus is based on a cheap RC controlled-toy car from Playmobil, I´ll post pics and a little tutorial how to create your own Taurus soon. Oh and the Taurus actually drives thanks to the RC unit! I will post a video of it soon!

For now here are the pics, hope you like it! Some more pics can be found on my blog: http://invivos.blogspot.com/

Cheers

Thanks for the nice feedback!

Here is a link to the playmobil kit No. # 5156 from the series Future planet that I used:

http://store.playmobilusa.com/on/demandware.store/Sites-US-Site/en_US/Product-Show?pid=5156&cgid=Future

I bought it for 19 €, recently it has dropped even lower to 15€ so don´t worry about the US price tag

I am currently writing up a small tutorial, expect it next weekend along with a small video!

Thanks for that! I'll have to watch the playmobile bargain bin at my local train/toy shop.

As Grass4hopper says, it's kind of reminicent of the Aliens' APC and with a new paintjob, it would be usable almost out-of-the-box for non-40k 28mm sci-fi gaming.

One more request, could you snap a pic of it next to a guardsman or other 28mm fig?

Yeah it does indeed look a little like the APC from Aliens and with changing some of the weapons it would easily work for most Scifi games like Inifnity too

As requested I added a scale shot to it on my blog, the link here is here:

wow this would be beautiful in an arbite amry

The Imperium of Man is able to traverse the Warp with difficulty when their Emperor concentrates from his golden life support machine and lights the way. Unfortunately, because the Emperor has the attention span of the average 5-year-old Pokemon fanboy, this means that many an unfortunate Imperial ship has had the WTF WHERE'D THE LIGHTS GO experience, which in the Warp is invariably fatal.

After doing Google search it appears that Playmobil toy isnt available in the USA...seems all the listings Im finding to buy it are in England.

EDIT: Ive found it...its called the Future Planet Stealer in Europe, but called the Future Planet Explorer in North America.
