Here is a 2ft by 2ft board I made. i just got real tired of my buildings on a green battle mat. This is my first attempt and I think it came out pretty good.

Let me know what you guys think.

Very nice - this is an idea I might have to steal.

Great idea. I'd like to see a little more color variance to break it up just a tad and add some depth: say a careful "dusting" in spots of a more rusty/brownish. Not much, just a faint hint in spots.

Are you planning to add some detailing? Some sewer grates in places (perhaps rusty metal) would add some more visual pop and color variance, etc.

I could see a few vents or grates on the sides of the raised section as well...

Well the board that I bought at Lowes was around 8 dollars
and the card was just from extra comic book backs, But you could use cereal box containers and other stuff. Just make sue you glue the glossy side up. so far just one can of black spray paint and one can of gray. But even if I needed 2, which im sure i dont its still about 4 dollars for 4 cans at walmart. so we are talking no more than 20 bucks. It just can be time consuming But totally worth it because if you buy the GW board its way more and you still have to paint and flock it. and if there is a bunch of grass it does not look good with buildings on it.

More common spelling would be Geni as in Aladin and the lamp. Sorry too many years of odd RPG games.

Really fresh idea, I like it. I'd be tempted to use a little flock or grass tufts on it between the 'paving blocks' to make it look a little less new. Maybe have some of the tiles cracked or shattered where heavy machines or weapon fire has damaged them.
