If you dislike the Cadian models and want regular foot soldiers for cheap, why not check out the Warzone Bag of 80 models? 40 Imperials and 40 Bauhaus. With a nice paint job they can easy appear to be the same force.

Keep in mind that, just like the Mantic Corp. models, without extra converting they can only be used for private or friendly games. You could probably buy bulk Lasguns to place in their hands, or just convince your friends that they use Autoguns instead. Unfortunately the main weapon for one faction looks more like a Shotgun than an Autogun, but for the price they are awesome!

If you make an effort to be polite and not mention that you prefer buying elsewhere, they may warm up to you. I know most FLGS get pretty irritated when you make a point to mention all the great deals you're getting everywhere else. You might consider buying your paints from them at the very least so they see you are making an effort to be a welcomed customer. Running a gaming store ain't easy. Since it's not a GW, you shouldn't have any problem with the store telling you what models you can use, though the folks you play games with will be on a case-by-case basis.
