From Forgeworld: One of the very first models that Forge World released, back in the dim and distant past when dinosaurs walked the earth, was this large scale Imperial Space Marine, the first in our Showcase series of figurines. Standing at an impressive 6 inches/150mm tall, even now this is one of our most popular models. As you can see on the assembly instructions, the model comes in quite a number of pieces which allows for plenty of scope for modelling and personalisation. We have a limited number of the Showcase Imperial Space Marine available to order right now but we cannot predict when this set of moulds will break down, so if you really fancy getting hold of one, please order soon to avoid disappointment.

they've discontinued it before IIRC, wouldn't bet on it being gone for long

It's a nice model, but I wouldn't want to drop £99 on it

It has been discontinued and brought back from the dead a few times now, mostly around Christmas time IIRC.

It's worth noting that it gets brought back mostly when they can fit in the time to get a new mold made.

Limited or not? Yours to decide.

That message has been there for the past year or so. It's still available and has been for that past year.

It's under Modelling supplies for those not in the know.

Yeah, it's said that for as long as I can remember gawking over how cool it is.

I really wish they'd put back the gigantic abaddon. That was an awesome model.

It's come and gone a few times, this just means the mould has worn out. I bought mine for £25.

It used to be $100, or 100 pounds, or something like that. Now it is, I believe, 250 pounds.

Over the years FW has "updated" its shipping from 10% to 12% to 15% of your total order, never mind the fact that they package the whole order together anyway.
It also still charges you VAT, even if you are not from the UK.

So, give FW at least ~$400, or you get to pay 15% of your order in shipping. Yay! FW has some of the most abusive and ridiculous shipping policies I know of, not to mention their poor quality control and slow speed of delivery.

Oh, and FW does not send you shipping tracking information. Overall a completely garbage consumer experience.

I was very happy with their shipping when I ordered a Warhound a few years ago.

What was your favorite part of the shipping? The no tracker, the 15% extra price you narrowly avoided by giving them hundreds of dollars, or the 20% extra price you didn't avoid when they charged you VAT even though it does not apply to orders from the US?

I paid none of that with the free shipping option. In fact I placed a FW order about 45 minutes ago. It was large enough for free shipping, and all I paid was actual listing price.

In Europe, the Value Added Tax is normally included in the list price. So the price you see online already includes it.

In Germany, the VAT is 19%. I don't know what the VAT is for the UK.

UK VAT is currently sat at 20% and will be included in the list prices already.

Ah ph34rs rants about FW

I got tracking info when i ordered the warhound, i had a couple of issues with parts for a revenant so they shipped an entire arm out special delivery (gteed next day before 12pm) to make good on it.

Also its not up to them to not charge VAT - you reclaim it yourself, and can do so quite easily. If you cant be bothered its not their issue

Yeah, I'm not sure if it's the US shipping that has trouble, but in the UK they use UPS and always give tracking info.

Back on track however, the large scale space marine has been "Limited" for the past year now, so I doubt that Forgeworld is going to run out of their stock any time soon.

A far as I know, that is incorrect. UK companies do not charge VAT for out of Euro-zone sales, so when they sell to someone in North America say, they should reduce the price by the current VAT (now 20%). They do not, so they are pocketing the 20%, since they do not pay it to the government either.

Interestingly, GW proper DOES discount prices by the VAT for overseas sales, or at least the did the couple of times I ordered directly from them.

Wow- really? I'm curious about this, because if they were charging 20% less, a huge number of pieces are a much closer-to-reasonable price...

So the model is not yet discontinued is it? They have had that message up for the last year or so!

On the subject of FW ranting I have nothing to say, I prefer them to GW despite their pricing!
