SCROLL DOWN FOR UPDATES.

Hey guys, this is my first time trying to setup a painting and building blog, hopefully this will keep me motivated to getting everything painted in a timely fashion and to a really good quality. I have been solely a Necron player since I started the hobby 6 years ago, and have had time off and on, I caught the hobby flu really bad when the Necron codex came out and have been all about 40k for the past few months. With that being said I'm wicked competitive and hate having something other peiple have, and now that Necrons are flav of the month recently and Im seeing them everywhere I decided it was time for a new Army. I wanted something unique, competitive, and fun to paint, so I chose to go ahead and purchase a variation of a Fatecrusher army.

I ordered everything from Reece and Will at Frontlinegaming.org, they were a huge help in helping me decide on what to buy to build the fatecrusher list (largely based off of their Daemons player Will's list). Cant thank them enough for the major discount on the products and help they've been.

'm going for a high quality paint job on all my models so CC is welcome throughout the thread. Im having trouble deciding on what to do for color schemes for some of the units, since I dont want to do straight codex colors, but I dont want it to look uniform and boring either. Ill try to keep my posts of WIP coming as often as possible with somewhat layered wip shots of my painting process. Hope you and enjoy and thanks for looking.

Here's the list Ill be building.

The box had arrived (without any of the plaguebearers, they were on back order )

First tests on pink horrors basecoat/some touchup and detail, still not 100% satisfied though, but thats what tests are for I suppose. (sorry for bad quality pics from now on ill set up for pictures better)

Was sick of the mess on my kitchen table so I went out and bought a new hobby desk that's in my man cave now ^.^ The girlfriend was happy and helped me organize it haha

Updates to come soon. I just primed up every thing I had built: 3 BC's, Lord of Change, 4 Fiends, rest of Pink Horrors, 5 seekers

Any ideas for a unique seeker? I was thinking doing them a gradient of yellow and orange, with a black and grey highlighted hair.
Unique Bloodcrusher Ideas??? Was thinking a blue for the metal plating and such on the BC, and orange/red Bloodletters. Or yellow Bloodletters, with ____ BC's?

Exciting new project you have here! That's quite the stack of boxes I'm more of a modeler than a painter, so I would have a very, VERY difficult time with that

Great shading on the horrors, and I like your pink to blue transition.

Good luck!

Thanks I need the words of encouragement as there is sooooo much to do ^.^ Im not totally in love with the blue transition yet but for a first try I think it has a lot of potential. This will be a learning process for me painting wise too. Up untill getting this army my most elaborate painting, was nothing more than basic imo (only so much i felt I could do with my old crons)

Im hoping my proffesion of being a 3d modeler and texture artist will some how transpose into my hobbying now ^.^ with that being said I have to take the opportunity to plug the project I'm sure most have heard of already, that Ive been a 3d modeler for the last 2 years on The Lord Inquisitor http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7glPda2Lcc ... check it out if you havent already.

Got around to starting to paint up a test Fiend tonight, i forgot how much i HATE painting metal models!!!. I know some of the highlighting is a little sloppy on the blue so I will probably go back and fix that but here is where its at so far. More highlighting and finishing touching/belnding to comeLMK what you think.
@Rawson- ya those are of course rather new models but my old scheme like the rest of my old 'boring' necrons ^.^

Tonight I did my first seeker test. Im not really digging it so far, I think I wanted it to be more yellow less orange, so I may strip this model or start another test on a different seeker (plenty left to do ^.^) Let me know what you think, some of the shading looks pretty sloppy imo but its alright.

Just simply changing the color of the daemonettes hair might help a lot.

pretty threatening amount to do :-/

Finally got the lord of change posed the way I like, I still have to make a cool base for it, I combined the 2 staves in the box together because I like the moon yet I like the twisted looking shaft.

Please feel free to comment and critique!

Nice seeker model. Maybe highlight the scales to a lighter grey. I really like the model itself too. Great work.

I dislike the purple daemon witch(not a daemons player). Probably just not done. If you finish the purple daemon then im sure the model would look really great.

Also just an idea, i think the base for the seeker would be really great if you put a 'dead',maybe mangled, model under the seeker. Just to say symbolically that the seeker always gets what it seeks.

Got the 3 boxes of plaguebeares on friday, did another box of bloodcrushers and have em all primed up. So what I have left is 2 boxes of bloodcrushers, 1 box of seekers, 3 fiends, bases for Fateweaver and Lord of Change, and bloodcrusher bases. Here are some WIP shots of my first batch of test plaguebearers... Let me know what you think nothing too out of the box :-/ wasnt sure what to do with em so there is room for change. I definately want a mix of different one thoses, here are the 3 I messed with today. Still looking for unique bloodcrusher ideas.....

Still need to refine details on the models but here are the basic ideas.

hey guys its been a little bit since my last update. Since then Ive finally gotten the chance to do a test bloodcrusher. Im actually overall really happy with where i think its going. Other than wanting to push the darks a bit more on the bloodcrusher to get a nicer gradient from the dark metal up to the copperish bronze metal look, and now looking at the pics its hard to see the layering on bloodletter, its actually 4 layers of different reds and oranges tough to see bc he is so bright (but the brightness is what i wanted). Ive also posted a pic of the albino plaguebearer which i think too has potential to be cool. This was my first attempt ever at doing any sort of glow effect, it fell a little short imo but after 11 more of these bad boys im sure ill have it down no problem! CC always welcome, please let me know what you think. Also trying to decide on what bases to order for these??? Thanks for looking guys!

If you want to make your runes and bc eyes look a nit more glowy, try doind small traces of ice blue ( light baby blue color) and then touch those areas up with a bit of white

I know its been a longggg time since I last posted, I got a bit burnt out after finishing building the army and getting some stuff painted up. I finally got around to painting up some more bloodcrushers and taking some good pictures. Since starting this thread Ive actually started up a commission painting blog. As a launch to our service if you subscribe to our youtube you can win $50 free painting commissions so check us out! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OpoN31-zWYc

(I have 6 of each type of bloodcrusher so there are a full squad of both variations)

Great stuff! I love the vibrant color on the Crusher models. Excited to see your take on Fateweaver and the other color schemes you choose for the other Daemon units. Well done, keep it up!

Thanks man I appreciate it! They really pop when on the table and thats what I had hoped for with doing such a vibrant scheme for them. They will look even cooler with the icey ones on ice bases and the fire ones on lava bases...

I have a feeling with the 6th ed changes ill be painting up some Oblits, Termies, and other CSM models (hopefully I can wait it out till the new wave)

Well after the new releases looks like my 'Fatecrusher' plog is going to change to a more All Corners Daemons blog! This weekend I hope to paint up a new Daemon prince AND the new Screamers! I also have some Chaos Termies on the way so I need to throw around some ideas for how im going to paint them up as well.

Checkout my unboxing and tactics talk for the new Screamers!

So since the update my list has changed for obvious reasons and Ive began running a few more screamers and flamers than before ^.^ I had always liked the idea of using flamers bc I love BoC but I couldn't drop anything to get them in their and just didn't see the points working out. I KNOW the seam on this guys tale is really bad I was in a rush to get them built and on the table top >.<

I had a small break between commissions and was able to Start my flamers, and get pretty far with a test screamer. Let me know what ya think! (The flamers have A LOT left to do this was just the base scheme I'm thinking for 1 of 2 units).

Also any ideas for the other scheme for my second squad of screamers?? Im thinking my army lack

s lime green.... maybe make them look like watermelons hot pink blend on the inside and lime green and yellow blend towards the outside.
