It confers the night vision rule. In addition, a model equipped with it may take a Ld test to fire through a wall. If the test is passed, they may fire through terrain at a unit out of line of sight. The unit fired upon gains an automatic 4+ cover save, unless it would normally be better, which may be modified or removed as normal. Not that you cannot fire through vehicles or buildings.

I think that there may be a few cases where it could be OP, but for the most part I like it. I think the automatic 4+ cover save is a good idea, but I'm a little confused with the night vision rule. Are you saying that the auspex can be used to nullify penalties imposed by night fighting, or does the squad using the auspex gain the night fighting bonus i.e. enemies have to check their range first?

I don't have a rulebook on hand but I believe the squad with Acute Senses/Night Vision can reroll their night fight roll.

Oh ok. I'm still getting acclimated to the new rulebook (I've been out of 40K for a while). In that case I'd say your new rules sound fair within their points cost, I'll have to give em a try in some of my games.

Who has them? Not marines that's for sure and should.

They were in the old Witch/Daemonhunters books...so no one has them anymore.

Yes, older units still have them. I prefer the anti-infiltrator rule to the night fighting one.

Aren't auspexes still present in the C:SM book?

Just as decorations. In fact I don't think any marine or imperial infantry have them.
