I have seen them on Ebay. Have you tried it?

Every Dakkanaught gets a 4+ Pinch of Salt save.
When you suffer a Falling Sky hit, roll a D6 - on a 4+ the hit is ignored as per the Pinch of Salt save. On a 1-3 panic insues - you automatically fail common sense tests for the next 2 weeks and get +7 to your negativity stat. -Praxiss

Wizards of the Coast made a huge amount of prepainted Star Wars Miniatures including Clone troopers, Storm Troopers and AT-STs in 28mm (non-heroic). You find them on ebay a lot.

But what is the detail of the molding on the prepaints? Are they soft plastic like I expect? Wouldn't mind getting myself some of these just for display.

I started (not finished) this sort of project a while ago. I converted guardsmen into snowtroopers http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/380322.page

They look alright, and it was my first time greenstuffing so I'm sure it can be made to look excellent with some practice. The Vader is from Knight Models

I have a few of the starwars minis made by wizards left over form when I was doing starwars d20. They are indeed a soft, flexible plastic. The paintjob is pretty basic. The detail isn't as good as polystyrene models, but probably as good as one can get with the material used.

just so you know most starwars minis, are pretty much truescale proportions...kind of my old rp group used stormtrooper as imperial navey guys while my former guard were the characters

Antenociti's Workshop do a range of armoured figures clearly inspired by Star Wars.

They are true-scale proportions as Cyvash said -- most non-GW models are like that.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

Knight models are NOT pre-paints.
