Subject: Dark Angels Ravenwing rule explanation?

Ok so i'm new to dark angels and i'm running deathwing. Wanted to add some ravenwing to my army list since i have a bunch of bikes...
So apparently I can make a unit of 6 bikes + 1 attack bike.
But upon deploying them, the attack bike counts as an entire separate unit? So it will be offering a kill point of it's own?
So say I take said unit and break it into combat squads, that's 3 kill points awared to my opponent off that one choice?
And if this IS how it works, then with sammael the attack bike on it's own is a scoring troop no?
did i miss anything?

You are correct. That's how it works.
Also, I'd like to point out, Sammael is not an Independent Character, but always a unit of one model. Just something alot of people have missed.

yep the ravenwing can be a kill fest in killpoint missions. suchs but thats the price of having outflanking units with homers on them.

That's the price of using the DA codex. Just hold fast for a couple more years until GW turn around and upgrade it.

Meh. That was what the rumor mill has been saying for the last 12 months. I will believe it when I see it.

As long as the squadron did not take a Landspeeder. Take a landspeeder and no Outflank allowed for the bikes.

@Don_mondo: Can you quote the page of this? The Landspeeder becomes a separate unit at deployment.

Outflank is instead of deploying(as it requires you to go into reserves, which is done instead of deploying) - at that point the entire unit lacks Scout, so cannot outflank

Why yes, I can.

Guess where I found it? From the GW DA FAQ:
Q: Can a Ravenwing attack squadron with a
Landspeeder in it, which has been held in reserve, use
the Outflank special rule? (p27)
A: No.
