Subject: Entropic Strike FAQ clarification.

I need a small clarification about something on the FAQ, concerning Entropic Strike.
Q: Do you roll to see if a hit with the Entropic Strike
special rule reduces a vehicle’s armour before rolling for
armour penetration? As all attacks at the same Initiative
are simultaneous, does this mean that other models
with the same Initiative will also roll to penetrate
against the reduced armour value? (p29)
A: Yes to both questions.
If I attack a vehicle with 5 Scarab Swarms, I resolve the attacks separately? If the first Scarab reduces the AV from, say 11 to 8, do the rest of the Scarabs roll for armor penetration, as well as the Entropic Strike?
Just have to make sure cause a more experienced player insisted yesterday that this was not the case.
Thanks.

You swing in initiative order, as we always have. All the scarabs swing at the same time.

5 scarabs is 15 attacks. We'll say that 8 hit. On average 4 will reduce AV.
That's 8 penetration rolls against an AV of 7 (11-4).

1. Roll to hit with each scarab.
2. For each hit, make another roll to see if Entropic Strike triggers.
3. For each hit, then roll for glance/pen against the reduced armor value, assuming there were any successful ES.
So, if you have 20 attacks and have 10 hits, you first roll 10 dice to see if there is any armor reduction. Then, you roll 10 dice to see if there are any glance/pen on the reduced armor value.

Thanks guys. As I said, my opponent yesterday insisted that I only roll for the Entropic Strike and not for Armor Penetration, hence my question. Meaning that any Armor Penetration rolls would be against the in initial AV of 11, which with my S3 Scarabs was impossible to penetrate.
