Finecast.....or utter sh*t$ as I like to call it!

It is fragile, snaps like twigs, swords etc bend easily, and even though they say to warm in water to reshape, doing so when painted will crack the paint!

Plastic works just as well, and gets some great detail too! And it's cheaper.

Finecast resin is cheap. Yet they are charging the Earth for it.

Please, please, listen to your fans. We love you GW, just plastic please!

Plastic molds are very expensive to make. This is why models that likely won't sell as much (certain elites and HQs especially for Xenos armies) are made from resin, because while the cost of production is more expensive, they likely won't sell enough that it'll be cheaper to make molds for them as resin.

I don't think that the mods sticky complaint threads, usually. Otherwise we'd have more stickies than normal threads.

Although I do like the idea of a 'whining/complaining' sub-forum.

Yet another "Finecast sucks" thread. I've (as of yet) not had an issue with it...

Also, the reason plastic can't be used is because it can't capture the same details that resin/metal can.The models that get the finecast treatment have undercuts and are shaped in ways that plastic models could never be made. Thus your choices are metal or resin, resin is cheaper than metal and the molding process is pretty much the same, thus an easy conversion for GW. Why the price hike though I cannot say.

I got myself the mangler squigs a lil while ago, no problems with it at all. No bubbles or melted splotches or broken bitz or anything else.

You are new, so I will let you off with a slap on the wrist instead of the warning this thread merits.

1. We frown on substituting 1 letter of a swear word with a symbol. If it is banned in the swear filter, putting a dollar sign instead of an s is not ok either.

2. Please review the threads already here, there is a very active Finecast is bad thread a few posts down on the first page. We do not allow duplicate topics for the sake of keeping the place tidy.

3. The tone of your post, plus the fact you are only repeating points made 1000 times before will only invite aggressive responses from pro-GW die hards and anti-GW die-hards. In other words, it's flame-bait.

Please make sure to review the Dakka rules, check for active topics first before posting and above all, be polite.

Thanks -
