I always wondered why US posters would link to articles on The Mail Online. Now we know, they're reading it! I found that interesting since AFAIK it doesn't have a strong following with young(er) Conservative (and conservative) followers in the UK.
I usually hide mine in a porn magazine or distract the seller by buying something less embarrassing like extra small condoms or haemorrhoid cream if I buy it.

The most popular paper they read online, and it's still a tabloid rag. Hm, well, I guess it's less embarrassing than having to admit you read the Daily Sport or something. At least the Mail tries to pretend it's respectable.

I think a lot of people from the US probably get linked to it from Drudge Report.
At least Right-Wing Jackbooted Fascists like myself do.

Nothing wrong with The Sun nor its contemporaries The Mirror, The Star, The Sport, The Dandy and The Beano.
The Dandy and The Beano really do leave the others behind in terms of journalistic credibility though.

At that point we might as well all start reading the Bild. At least the Bild is brave enough to put the Page 3 girl on the front page though...

I quite like the Mail, I mean, I know that it's written in a ridiculously idiotic manner that is designed to invoke the rage, but they dont fully make stories up. It is also written in an amusing manner, and im sure the writters have their tongues in the their cheek most of the time, even the super big headlines and the bullet points and archaic words they use amuse me no end. I remember reading it in the pub a few months back and laughing at a story with the landlord about a case of a woman forcing her child to drink Tabasco sauce as a punishment for being naughty and being (rightly so) charged with child abuse, and all the way through the article they refered to the mother as everything other than her name and age, it said things like "the unemployed thug" and "the overweight bully"
Look at this one...
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2070562/Muslim-girl-gang-kicked-Rhea-Page-head-yelling-kill-white-slag-FREED.html
Girl gang who kicked woman in the head while yelling 'kill the white slag' freed after judge hears 'they weren't used to drinking because they're Muslims'
-Yobs ripped lump of hair from Rhea Page's head during High Street attack
-Three sisters and cousin escape with six-month suspended sentences
-Maximum term for assault occasioning actual bodily harm is five years' jail
And when you read about a gang of Asian women kicking a white girl around a street shouting "kill the white bitch" being let off with a warning because "Muslims dont normally drink and it affected them adversely" it stokes your rage and gives you a nice fuzzy feeling of vindication, you know, when you spend a great amount of time pestering people about Islam.
The BBC is one of the worlds best news sites, but they wont touch stuff like that with a barge pole.
The point is, the BBC is the best for giving you both sides of the story, but if The Guardian exists, then so should the Daily Mail.

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels. |

I have read The Mail, The Sun, Bild as entertainment. A popular band in Germany described the Bild as containing nothing but "Fear, Hate, Tits, and Weather", which probably would fit the Mail and Sun as well.
If Fox News would print a daily tabloid, those papers would be it.

And decrying everything the "yoof" do as either obviously morally harmful or, in one laughable article, as the signs of a suicide cult.

"There's a time when the operation of the machine becomes so odious—makes you so sick at heart—that you can't take part. You can't even passively take part. And you've got to put your bodies upon the gears and upon the wheels, upon the levers, upon all the apparatus, and you've got to make it stop. And you've got to indicate to the people who run it, to the people who own it that unless you're free, the machine will be prevented from working at all" Mario Savio |
