So the limited edition model has been announced and is up for pre-order, and I'm curious to know what people think of him. Personally I like him BUT he's finecast. Really worried that if I buy him he'll look like Swiss cheese and I'll have no chance of returning a limited edition.

Personally, I think he's simply 'meh'.

It's a model that looked better in the blurry phone camera shots we got.

When I saw clear pictures, I wasn't very wowed by it. Particularly because the nostolgia comes from how awesome he looked with that wrist mounted gun. Giving him a standard plasma pistol totally ruined the nostalgia factor for me.

Agreed totally with CthuluIsSpy, the GamesDay model this year is far better.

Close enough?! Why do we not get a Roboute Guilliman model for the 25th anniversery!!!!

The games day model is better though. The artwork it comes from is awesome.

IIRC the games day model comes from this image:

On topic: Yeah it is a bit boring. Should of been the Emperor or Horus.

It's based off the cover for the first edition of 40k, you know, the whole thing this "25th anniversary" shindig is for. So yeah, that makes a lot more sense for a model than Horus, who didn't even exist back then, or the Emperor who was pretty much only seen as a corpse in a tube in the artwork.

I can't help but like the thing. £20 is the same as a Vostroyan Command Squad though.

It's a shame it only half matches the original art work because they've modernised it with a generic plasma pistol, etc.

Am I the only one who prefers this to the Games Day model? This guy almost makes me want to pack in my Ultramarines and start Crimson Fists, it's a simply amazing model, and I for one am getting my hands on it.

On a side note, can anyone else see a theme staring us in the ace of making models from old artwork? I can see some interesting models coming out very soon, because let's face it, they never let a good idea die, even if we beg them to.
