OK, so I found this:

So I'm wanting to clarify this - are we saying that if you use an incinerator, you only need to pass the test and then you can fire at anything outside of LOS and that they will get no cover save ever?

Yes. They get a cover save that is ignored by the flamer.

Apparently. However I would imagine that you would still need to be within range which would limit its applicability somewhat.

Please excuse any spelling errors. I use a tablet frequently and software keyboards are a pain!

If you read page 29 of C:GK, it says that the target of astral aim receives a cover save of 4+ for that attack that "cannot be modified by any means." The incinerator, being a flamer weapon, then ignores that cover save.

with this in mind can you take a 5 man purgation squad give them incinerators jump out of the left side of a rhino use astral aim and shoot target on the other side of the rhino? which would place part of the template over your own rhino model? but as your using astral aim not technically hitting your own rhino?

The difference between heresy and treachery is ignorance.

No, because you're not allowed to place the template so it hits any of your units. All Astral Aim does is eliminate the need for LOS.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Just because the LOS requirements are removed doesn't mean you may place a template or blast marker over friendly units.

No, this does not work.
