Don't think this has been posted before. Kingdom Death has new releases this month, plus they are doing a limited re-release of the fabulous Flower Knight and Grand Mother. I've ordered from Kingdom Death before and their resin miniatures are really top notch and high quality, none of the failcast issues whatsoever.

And they're sold out already!

I am so terribly confused about Kindgom Death's business model. I questioned why the pinups are unlimited release, and was told that it's because they sell better than the non-pinups. Yet somehow all their regular releases are constantly sold out within hours of being available.

If you are reading this, please re-release the Flower Knight for all of us poor suckers who missed the limited editions not once, but twice. I will give you $1,000,000.

Got it this time!

I hate Kingdom Death's release system, because I love their non-pinup models so much. I'd kill to have the Forsaker, Saviour, and Survivor (female) in general release.

Sold out in a matter of hours, shame I really wanted that grandmother, maybe one or two of the normal mothers as well.

Kingdom death make beautiful models, but their release system and availability leave much to be desired.

I eagerly await my next opportunity to not be able to buy the Flower Knight because it's sold out...again.

Models are nice, but I don't even bother looking to closely at them anymore since he seems unable or unwilling to meet reasonable demand for them.

A truly baffling business model, to be sure... still, I guess it must work for them?

I bought two of the same model from them (Gorm) and want their Wet Nurse more than anything. Their models are awesome. But only two or three hundred when he knows his product could sell a great deal more is just silly. His reason is: "Somtimes our limitied editions runs can sell out very quickly. I apologize, but currently the focus is on moving the project forward and not simply selling as many figures as possible."
If you are more interested in creating your game why not let the community know more about the direction the game is going. All we have now is some models on a checkers/chess board.

Some good news to all who are a bit frustrated in missing the Flower Knight the 2nd time. It is now being prepared as a general release, which according to KD's newsletter should be ready in a few months' time. The kit for the general release version will feature something different apparently.

Also for those who couldn't wait, a 3rd mini encore of the Flower Knight is now available at the KD shop. It's only a very small batch tho. Last I checked there were only 24 left.

So i guess you now owe Kingdom Death $1 million.

Apparently their business model doesn't include investing in making their web site load pages in anything close to a reasonable timeframe. :(

Surely selling minis, that is getting the cash in to support future products, is a good thing?

Either you like the product that they sell and buy it or you don't and don't buy it, simple and the same principle applies to every other company in the world. People need to abandon this notion that buying something from a company is an act of charity or something!

Either way KD will likely continue to sell out of their miniatures so you really don't need to do them any favours if you don't wan't.

well im guessing they are a small operation and they would rather spend there man hrs on design and produceing exelent quality casts rather than just produceing a higher number of poor casts ? and it takes them that long to build up a supply .

the other option would be to cast on demand but then the lead times would rise .

The thing is they've got the pinup models as production models. So they certainly have the capacity to produce some models at a consistent rate.

One system they could use would be to use a rotation.

Argh sold out?

I hope they do another run of the Flower Knight..

Never go into a Kingdom Death release thread expecting to actually be able to buy their product. That would be silly.

Awesome miniatures! I really want to grab some of these for my collection.

That Flower Knight is sweet. I have a feeling it might find a place in my revitalized Chaos Space Marines when they finally get a new book.

Are the girls from the Lion Knight avialable as a stand-alone product?

I like most of KDs range.

I would like to continue buying their product, but it is always out of stock.

Purchases DO support a company that is set up to recive money in exchange for goods and/or services. If KD are happy to continue with their current business model than thats okay by me, I'll go elsewhere.

Thanks to a heads up from Gymnogyps, I was able to nab a Flower Knight just now at CMON, but it's already sold out again. There are some others of his models still available, though:

I did see someone post (already mentioned above) that he emailed out this:
