I like the Standard of Honour rule, but we need a points cost too. Anything that can shoot 36" at S10 AP2 with 14 AV and BS7 has to be at least 300-350 points, which is kinda ridiculous.

This looks suspiciously more like a souped-up leman russ demolisher with plasma sponsoons than it does a vindicator.

Drop BS to 4, change guns back to normal (demolisher cannon = 24", no large blast for plasma cannons), price it around 225-275 pts and I think it is workable.

Oh, and don't call it a vindicator, because it isn't.

BTW, what's the reasons fluffwise for the special rules. Without a justification for them, they don't really make any sense.

Yeah, no large blast for the Plasma, that's way too much. BS7 is ridiculously high, go with BS4. With AV14, demolisher cannon, plasma cannons, and special rule, I'd say about 230-270. However, the leadership boost for LD10 to fearless is a bit OTT to say the least and boosts the price value to at least 250. I'd say if you must boost LD10 (I think you shouldn't), then confer stubborn rather than fearless. If it didn't affect LD10, I'd give it 230, with stubborn 240.

This is all extremely crazy for many reasons.

The easiest to point out is that there already is a SM tank special character. Sgt Chronus.


I would change the rules to: vindicator with sgt chronus.

This is meant to be a HQ choice for Apocalypse which leads tank squadrons, around 250-300 points. I'll use some suggestions and nerf it.

That hardly sounds like a good reason not to use him. You're willing to homebrew a tank, but not use a counts-as from another codex? I can tell you which one I'd have fewer problems with...
