Two questions:
1- To anyone who has forge world shoulder pads for their chosen chapter, do you find that they are worth the extra money and make the models look considerably better?
2- What is the book with the latest rules for the red scorpions? If I'm getting these, I want to be up to date.

Personally if i was to get FW shoulder pads i would get them for a sepcial unit like Command squad, sternguard or vanguard.
I think the Red Scorpions' most recent rules are in siege of Vraks but i could be mistaken...

The Red Scorpions were most recently featured very prominently in IA 9 and 10, The Badab war.

The most recent Red Scorpion characters can be found in IA9 on pages 165-167. (Magister Sevrin Loth and Lord High Commander Carab Culln)

There is also some chapter specific fluff on pages 82-89, with about half of that being pictures.

An "older" version of Culln can be found for free on the Forge World download page here. It's from earlier in his career, before me was made Lord High Commander.

Otherwise, just use the Codex: Space Marines. That's what all of the above special characters refer to.

I have plans to eventually add the IA9 culln to my SM army, he's pretty solid. Chapter master in terminator armor, a beast in CC, built in banner, and his chapter tactics replaces your tac squads sergeants with apoticaries for free.

On an Express Elevator to Hell!!

I bought tons of the Red Scorpion Mk4 veteran upgrade packs, just for the mk4 armour (before the latest bunch of pre-heresy suit types came out).

Having no need for the RS shoulder pads I used to put them on ebay for a couple of quid, they usually sold pretty quickly and I wasn't the only person doing it.

Might be worth while having a look if anyone is still doing it now.
