Ok im going up against Grey Knights tomorrow and ive put this simple list together tell me what you think.

Its an objective game tau and IG v Grey knights.

Commissar or Psyker

Troops

Vet squad with 3 meltas and demolitions
Vet squad with 3 meltas and demolitions

Vet squad with plasmas and lascannon- Chimera transport
Vet squad with meltas and a lascannon - Chimera transport

Fast Attack

Valkyrie with rocket pods
Valkyrie with rocket pods

Im expecting my Tau allies to provide most of the long range fire support as my troops move in to take the objectives.

Take vendettas over valks if your against knights

Why have two vet squads outfitted with melta and demo doctrine just to sit and wait. No one will drive thier tank within 12 inches of that. Put them in the two Chimeras. Why put two lascannons in Chimeras? Can't move and shoot them. Take them out, swap with the other vet squad. Other than that, I like the look of the list at 1000 points. You need to make those meltas able to get to where they need to go.

Thanks for the feedback I would prefer vendettas but am limited due to my models

Thanks again the plan is the demo vets will be in the Valkyries to target high priority targets. Im trying tomake this list agressive, there will be no sitting back.
As for the lascannons I know but if I take them out it leaves me with 40 pts to play with, any suggestions?

Put meltas and demolitions in Chimera instead of lascannon/plasma
take normal HQ (CCS)

Mike, it might be worth doing the old switch-a-roo!

Depending on the mission, I actually like lascannons in my plasma vets as someone has to camp the objective. What's the point of moving my chimera 1' if nothing is even getting close to hitting them?

Also need some heavy hitting shots to down transports. Personally I'm a fan of the BS4 las cannon over the standard auto cannons.

AP2 and 2 more str has helped in multiple scanrios especially vs very tough MC's like terminators/dreadknights/and like tyranid MC's. less good against demon MC's that don't have iron hide anyway and less effective vs storm shield terminators but I usually don't see that many of them.

True he probably would but regardless demo melta vets are in the valks. Theres no sitting and waiting on my list its all attack attack attack melt melt melt

So drop a vet team and replace it with a CCS not sure if I gain anything as I will be staying well clear of CC and dont think orders wll give me any significant boost but please quote me wrong.

Thank you, my thoughs exactly they may not be useful on the way to an objective but once there then they should be really useful as I expect a term heavy list from the GK.
