So I don't remember it that well, but somewhere in the new Codex it talks about doorways down inside Titan of which there are a reasonable few, on the way to some chamber or something.

Each doorway is guarded by a Librarian?

Are these old and infirm Librarians or perfectly good ones who could be on the frontline?

The thought that something like five Librarians are just chilling in Titan doing nothing other than guarding a doorway seems like a tremendous waste of a Librarian, and a *GK* Librarian at that.

Have I got this wrong?

Yes, they are old and in firm, but also, when you say "tremendous waste", you aren't referring to the fact that they are guarding the chapters most dangerous knowledge and artefacts are you?

I'm sure they have a roster and one doesnt just stand there forever, but know that not all of the Grey Knights fight at once, therefore there will always be enough librarians to battle and to guard.

The GK codex fluff is written horribly anyway and half of it makes no sense. Dont take to much to heart, try reading the old one, its gold.

Aye I intend to read it.

In a chapter of one thousand marines expected to deal with most daemonic problems in the entire Milky Way, I think that there won't be an abundance of spare Libbies around... especially if it's like a codex chapter where you don't tend to see more than one Libby per company. Then again, I guess the GKs have a bigger pool of recruits amongst their own numbers... but the Libbies are a SUPER PURE SECRET BETTER THAN PUREST OF THE PURE club much like the Purifiers and kill 99% of their applicants...

It's kind of funny really. You have an entire chapter of psykers, and the librarians are the best of these. So, what do they have them do? Guard a door, obviously.

The Grey Knights presumably have plenty of Librarians, I don't really see that it's at all implausible that, of those on Titan at any given time, they should take their turns at guard duty. Presumably whatever is behind said five doors is both important and dangerous, and the responsibility of the Grey Knights' Librarium to protect. Hence they take turns guarding it.

Most of any chapter is on/in their homebase most of the time. Grey Knights are no different.

Why would it be out of the ordinary to have some of the guarding different places around the base?

That being said, marines are immortal, but not unaging. When marines live long enough, they aren't battle-worthy any longer and are assigned duties more in line with their capabilities.

"'players must agree how they are going to select their armies, and if any restrictions apply to the number and type of models they can use."

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

When people ask, "What's the point in understanding everything?" they've just disqualified themselves from using questions and should disappear in a puff of paradox. But they don't understand and just continue existing, which are also their only two strategies for life.

Get it? Librarians?

"The Imperium is nothing if not willing to go to any lengths necessary. So the Trekkies are zipping around at warp speed taking small chucks out of an nigh-on infinite amount of ships, with the Imperium being unable to strike back. feth it, says central command, and detonates every vortex warhead in the fleet, plunging the entire sector into the Warp. Aren't all Grey Knights psykers? So are they not all librarians?

Not all GK are strong enough to become Librarians. All are psychic, but, fluff wise, the majority are only able to strengthen their psychic defences.

Then,in the codex, you have specific powers for specific units ( such as Holocaust for the Pallies and Cleansing Flame for the Purifiers ) and Hammerhand being a " basic " power used by all.

Maybe they are just regular orangutan librarians? If so, they would want to be close to the books and bananas.

Seems perfectly legit to me.
