I know with warhammer the following prices are practically universally understood regarding the sell of used models...

NIB plastic - 70%
Non damaged metal figs - 70%
Assembled plastic figs - 50% (plastic figs assembled with plastic glue drops that even further)
There's always other minor details that change price like rarity, missing pieces, etc. etc.

Does warmahordes follow the same sort of set up?

I see most WM stuff goes for around 60-70%, seemingly regardless of condition...

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Fewer people are selling out, therefore fewer bargain basement deals to be had, this keeps the resale value high.

People who collect Warmachine also tend to keep their collection even if they stop playing.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

Honestly, you're more likely to find a better deal on used WM/H locally than online.

I picked up a unit of Knights Exemplar, 8 Exemplar Errants + UA, Castigator, and eKreoss for $75 from Craigslist.

However, it's rare for WM/H to show up there, at least in my area.

I generally aim for 50% for a rule of thumb, but I've not sold tons. I've got a Cryx lot up on ebay right now (not touched them in a long time) that's starting at 46% and has a buyout of around 68%.

I think how much people are willing to pay mainly depends on A) if they want to paint the figs themselves (then having to clean painted figs means they probably want them for less) or if they're OK with tabletop quality painting (then they'll pay more on occasion).

Oh, also, there's tons of stuff that just doesn't move, I've found: certain casters, Longgunners, mostly stuff that was good in mkI but is now at the bottom of the pile.

Well, cheap Long Gunners will move just on the basis that people are curious or have lists that might find them useful, but they don't want to drop $70 for a full squad. I'd take Darius for $15-$20, especially with a modestly decent paint job.

Now Drudges... no. Just... no. Overlords, maybe if I wasn't selling my Cryx.

Well ok, allow me to be more specific. The following items are being offered to me for 75. No cards included.

Hardcover Khador Book
Prime Sorscha
Destroyer
Juggernaut
Widowmakers
Widowmaker Marksman

I know next to nothing about the game. I have Zoctavir or whatever his name is (the butcher) in epic form that I plan to add to the force. I like the look of the widowmakers so that's what lead me to the offer. The rest I don't know too much about.

So is this a good trade or no? I really don't know what's considered effective in the game just yet.

I just ran a quick check and the price for everything new from an online retailer is about $87 but that's with the army book being soft cover rather than hard.
With that information you can make your own judgement. As a side note you will want a copy of Prime Mk II (which are the rules to the game). The Forces book just explains what abilities the units have but none of the rules for how to play the game.

No cards? instantly lowers the value in my opinion. The models themselves you will see use out of so that's fine. but you're gonna have to spend $15ish to get the stuff needed to play the game.

Which retailer did you use? I looked up the prices via the PP website and ended up at 150 or so.

Wouldn't the Khador book make it to where I don't need the cards?

Nope. By the rules, you actually require the cards to be present in a game.

Even without that rule, the cards are where you track damage during the game.

The book's useful for knowing stats to things you don't own, though.

Yeah, book is purely for learning rules and army crafting.

Cards serve purely for the actual game.

Ah ok, I see now. I've looked up the cards, looks like they're merely .50 cents (USD). Would it really knock the value down that much? I imagine you need both spell and stat cards, so the figures value goes down by a dollar or do you drop it more in regards to the trouble involved in replacing the cards.

No cards is usually a deal-breaker for me unless you have cards, plan on having the cards, are planning on doing a bits order from PP anyway, or they're exceedingly inexpensive. Cards are cheap enough to order, only fifty cents a piece from PP, but the shipping is another $5 on top of the wait time. If you're doing a bits order anyway, or have other people to do one with, then it's not so bad.

Of course, then there's the wait time involved and hoping that there are no issues with the order. After my last fiasco ordering things from PP directly, I'm not the most optimistic regarding the 'no issues' aspect.

The lot listed above is $125 msrp. $75 is 60% of the retail value.
When you buy used you have to assume some cards will be missing and buying the faction deck is a wise choice. The marksman's card, however, is not in the deck so buying the cards from PP is a better option here. Shipping from PP is $4 or so for just cards, so that takes about $6.50 off the value of the lot.
You should also consider if it is the old metal battlebox or the new plastic one and the conditions of the models. Many people consider the old metal models uglier and less desirable than the new plastic battlegroups and any missing or broken parts will have an obvious impact on the value.

I just looked at Miniature Market. It's based in the US and ships out orders very quickly. You can also get the cards from them (except the marksman)

I always get faction decks anyway. I like having back up cards

As a new player, one of your first purchases should always be the faction deck, IMO. It not only gives you a good look at most of your faction, it also lets you proxy units and models that you don't own(provided you have a pack or two of spare empty bases - about $5 each).

If you're already playing Warmachine or Hordes, and get some used minis that don't have cards, it's often not a huge deal because you (hopefully) already have the faction deck and the appropriate cards. Note that as more expansions release, the chances of getting used models w/o cards increases, because the decks only cover your faction up to and including the Prime MK2 rulebook. That means nothing from Wrath or Colossals will be included.

I pick up starter box jacks for £5/£7 a go off eBay be they plastic or metal.

I'd even consider paying more for assembled units given the infuriating times I've had with with building PP models
