Subject: SF X Tekken: 12 DLC Characters already on the disc.
You know I really wish they would just up the price of new games instead of all this sneaky stuff they are doing. First day DLC for Mass Effect was just another way to sell the game for $70.00 USD instead of $60.00. The same goes for this game. I don't mind DLC being something extra but this withholding content that is already on the disc is bs.
Honestly it is just going to hurt the video game industry in the long run. A friend of mine just bought the complete edition of Red Dead Redemption the other day for $40.00 new. It had everything included zombie nightmare. My brother just complained about the Mortal Kombat edition that had all the dlc that he purchased for $40.00 as well.
The question is, can I wait a year on games? Probably not, but if I was buying Read Dead Redemption and Mortal Kombat for the first time now that would not be a godo sign for the industry.

Love the box art mega man reference! XD It bothers me less because they've mixed MM universes pretty liberally on the other fighters he's been in. We still need X to show up at some point though.

If people stopped buying DLC then companies would stop making it. Unfortunately they know there are plenty of people who will spend absurd amounts of money on overpriced content that should have been in the game in the first place.

They already did when they went from $50 to $60 dollars.
You know that was like a decade ago right? Everything else has double since then. The game industry is trying to make it look like they are not raising the prices by making DLC extra stuff when it is actually parts of the game withheld. Take Mass Effect 3 for example. There is three new characters and one of them is only accessible if you buy the day 1 DLC. When you look at the shortened character list you will see this is is just money making BS, which is why I wish they would just raise the price already and stop this partitioning crap.

So this is probably why they are doing to price increase through DLC right? I guess I am an oddity. I would rather pay 10-20 more dollars for an all in one package.

Somewhere in a Large office, a EA exec is sniffing and whiping away a tear, muttering, 'its beautiful' as he looks at the DLC marked in for Streetfighter/Tekken already preloaded on the disc.
Expect to see it in multiple EA games soon. Although to be fair, I'm probably still bitter over the release day DLC for Sims 3.
As to DLC in general, I'm not against it, as long as it doesn't a) take out content previously in the game to make said DLC content (ala Sims 3) or b) is blatently something that should have been in the game at launch and was either held back, or they released the main game too early. You know that that really has no bearing on the problem of low game content and the abuse of DLC right? You could make it $70 dollars a game and you would still end up exactly where you are now. It would not be taken as "Let's charge $10 more and unlock the 12 characters", it would be taken as "Oh, he is willing to pay another $10 for the game, so let's charge another $10". Pandora's box has been opened, and gamers, through their spending habits, have told the companies that they are willing to buy less content for full price and then pay for more content later in bits and pieces.

Who's actually seriously considering buying this game and, if so, are you insane?
6-8 months from now we're going to get Street Fighter X Tekken: Super Turbo Tournament Edition, with all these characters plus 4-8 more. Another few months after that we're going to get Street Fighter X Tekken: Super Elite Turbo Tournament Edition EX, with another 4-8 characters on the disc.
Don't buy first released Capcom fighting games. They're just expensive coasters!!!

Yeah you have a point but my point was that I would rather pay $70.00-$90.00 for an all in one package and not deal with the sneaky low game content and dlc. My point is probably moot though. They could raise the prices for an all in one package but they would still abuse the dlc. We the gamers would have no way of knowing how sneaky they are being with the low game content, etc. Of course this pre loaded dlc on the discs like SF X Tekken does help shine some light on how abusive they are being.

H.B.M.C got it right in one go. If you buy the initial release of a Capcom fighting game, you're invariably going to get burned by their practice of rapid re-releases and minor content updates.
