Does anyone know any fun and easy ways to convert vampires, seeing has how there are only two Non character vampires on foot and other vampires come as part of large expensive kits.
I'm looking to covert a standard bearing female vampire as well as a mounted vampire.
I was thinking of getting Konrad for the SB and replacing one sword with a standard but I have no idea of how to get a female head,(without buying a 2nd Choven Throne).

Any other ideas you might have will certainly be helpful.

If you are not bothered about using GW models, check out some of the Gamezone models - they put GW's stuff to shame and are generally cheaper.

Some of the Daemonette heads may work, not many though. There's also some of the Dark Eldar, they wouldn't be showing fangs though.

If you want to go the GW route.

Are they the same size and scale?

As far as I am aware, though they are slightly more realistic rather than heroic scale they would not look out of place.

The clever thing about vampires is...

ANYONE CAN BE ONE!

Like an Empire model?
Paintblood around the mouth.

Dark Elves?
No problem!

This works imo. The plastic DE Sorceress can be a good base for a female

And theres also the plethora of other manufacturers like Reaper and Avatars of War

Yup, if a vampire isn't "smiling", you can't really tell they're a vampire. You just need a model with the right clothing style, and to paint it with vampire-hued skin to match your other vampires.

Thanks for all the tips guys, but I don't think I'll use heads from other races, since now vampires have a very unique look now.
Dark elves would be nice but they have the stand out hair styles and the would clash with the rest of the army.

But it's ok, the girl who runs my local store was working on the Mortis Engine,I might ask her if she wouldn't mind parting with the female vampires. And I could always just pay her.

I've made a pretty decent vampiress from a dark eldar Lhamian...all you need I had to do was give it a bigger sword and a shield
