Hey I'm just posting to get some opinions on 2 new units that I've come up with to add some additional punch to an Amazon force using purely custom army book located on Scribe that I've been quite taken by, and have taken up the project of creating my own Amazon force.

Now I already understand the rules and models are going to be an accumulation of different makers and games and won't be allowed outside of a club or friendly environment BUT, here is what I've come up with. Its just a little extra to the army but is new and I would appreciate some constructive feedback on it.
----------------------------------------

Spoiler:
JUNGLE TROLLS 50pts

A wild form of troll that is generally found in jungle like settings, outcast and perhaps mismatched from those found within other settings these jungle trolls whilst still appearing equally as dull witted and prone to animosity it is also apparent that they are much less capable of looking out for themselves in the more exotic habitat of Lustria in which they reside. The unfamiliar trait that such trolls seem to lack is knowing when they have a good thing. This being there allegiance to the Amazon’s of Lustria, in return for some muscle on the battlefield the Amazon’s keep them, like monstrous pets both feeding and providing shelter for the rather incapable trolls and occasionally even padding there slimy hulking bodies with makeshift armour to protect those that seem to do better then others.

Unit Size: 3+
Equipment: Spikes, Branches, Claws and etc. (hand weapon)
Special Rules: Regeneration 4+, Stupidity, Fear

M – WS – BW – S – T – W – I – A – LD
6 – 3 – 3 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 1 – 3 – 4

Options:
Light Armor……………………….. 5pts ea
Shield……………………….. ……..5pts ea
Additional Combat Weapon………..10pts ea
Great Weapon……………………....20pts ea

JUNGLE TROLL CHIEF 75pts
0-1 only

Once in a generation leaders are born, the same can be said for the trolls themselves, after all someone has to keep the peace and arrangements with the Amazons. As such one within a group of trolls will take the position of chieftan, often the more intelligent of them (if there is such a thing).
One of the downsides to this intelligence as far as the Amazon’s can tell is that the Chief will never openly run into combat without some kind of colatoral insurance. This means that the Chief will only enter battle with someone of equal importance as seen through there eyes – Namely a Serpent Priestess and under no other condition other then to have such an important person by there side (or ontop of) will a Chief join the front lines of a Amazon army.

Mount for the Serpent Priestess only.
Equipment: Great Weapon
Special Rules: Regeneration 4+, I’ll think for the lot of you, Fear, Tall

M – WS – BW – S – T – W – I – A – LD
6 – 3 – 3 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 1 – 3 – 6

Notes: Being such a large mount this creature provides a +2 to the armor save of the character riding them.

If the rider is killed the Chief will flee automatically.

I’ll think for the lot of you
Chieftains pride themselves in there leadership of the other trolls and as such there leadership qualities have a chance of propping up during combat. On a turn in which a troll unit the chief is a part of or the chief himself fails a stupidity check the chief may instead choose to take charge of the situation against all odds by passing a leadership test which allows him or the unit he is a part of to reroll there stupidity test. However upon failure the chief’s leadership will drop 2pts for the remainder of the game, accumulating for each failure throughout the course of the game.

Tall
The rider is given a 360 degree sight unless a model or object of terrain taller then the troll is obstructing view in a given direction. This allows the rider a broad area of vision in all directions in a full 360 degree arc. It should be noted that this means that the rider can also be seen above the troll and specifically fired upon.

Their.

I don't like the idea of giving trolls armor and shields. They are too dumb to use them. They would rip off the armor because it would feel weird and they got S5 so anything they don't want on will be taken off. Creatures as big and regener-y as Trolls would never use shields. If you're practically immortal slime, you don't hide behind a stack of boards--it's not in your instincts. That said, trolls adapt to their surroundings per O&G book and WoC book. Lustria is a different land. Make different mutations with different costs if you want the equivalent of armor and extra attacks. But fluff-wise, it doesn't make sense for them to use those objects unless Lustria made them smart.

The Chieftain rule is not very good. And he's too expensive.

From the Tall rule I get the idea that someone is RIDING the troll? I can't ever see this happening from anything. Not a Chaos Lord or Black Orc or whatever. It's completely anathema to a troll. A troll is going to eat anything edible that sits on it, and everything is edible to a troll. I have a tough time thinking of a worse idea when it comes to things to sit on. Not even a hungry Ogre.

Overall, I see no problem with Lustria/Amazon Trolls. I think you should make them a little more unique to the area, however. I kind of like the notion of Trolls being different in different areas, kind of like weeds. Though the idea they need help in Lustria when they can survive (and thrive) in the Chaos Wastes is a bit far-fetched. And the idea anyone is going to ride one like a pony is very far-fetched.

I'd say trolls a far less likely to get weapons and armor in the jungle than anywhere else.
For jungle trolls, I'd give them poison (from all those dart frogs they eat). Or give them poisonous ooze, each time they suffer an unsaved wound in melee, they cause a S4 hit on the model inflicting the wound.

I'm with Duke that riding a troll seems like a very bad idea.

The logistics behind riding a semi-proportional humanoid are...limiting. Now, if some goblin-sized models wanted to ride piggy-back as a sort of tail-gunner, that's possible. As said above, Trolls are probably one of the least likely choices for mounts, bipedal or no, but hey, if he's on their back where they can't reach him, maybe they'll just forget that he's there.

Poison Attacks or an automatic S5 (S4 would be more reasonable, but their vomit attack is S5, so...up the cost, I suppose) hit for every unsaved wound would make sense for Jungle Trolls. As would Scout/Vanguard, a -1 to hit them (chameleon skin), etc.

Poison sounds decent, the armor was only ever meant to be light, maybe if I drop there toughness to compensate. The idea behind them is that they are supposed to be slightly more tame and intelligent then your average troll but as a result less capable of surviving on there own, hence why they allow such things to be put on them after time. The reason I think trolls would do less well in a tropical setting is mostly due to the fact its not a natural setting for them, the idea is that they were a migration long ago that found themselves having to evolve and adapt in the middle of the harsh jungles of Lustria, given the lizardmen aren't likely to be very welcoming the idea is of mutual benefit for them to coincide somewhat with the amazons, but perhaps instead of making them more tame I could be a little more diverse with there stat-line and ruling, perhaps make them more lizard-like or something.

The idea behind the tall rule is the chieftain, again if you read the fluff has a reason for allowing someone to be on him and ideally a fair bit bigger then your regular trolls. Perhaps adding in something more fitting though, making the rider a little more at risk from troll chief turning primal rage and throwing them off / attacking them.

As for the mount, the mounts for these are designed to be a light single amazon, nothing more and thats only the chieftain.

All things considered though I will give them a reworking ty!

The new Temurkhan book has Bile Trolls. Which are corrupted by Nurgle. Regen 5+ and basically mark of nurgle and other stuff.

But Trolls are "natural" anywhere. They are literally across the world and often described as fungus. There is no creature in all of WHFB that is more adaptable. They can eat literally anything, are nearly impossible to kill, and can regrow from even the smallest part (per fluff). They are strength 5 mobile mildew. They range from underground, to the hot barrens, to the frozen chaos wastes and in between. And they do it without clothes or shelter or fire (fire bad!) or tools.

If they weren't so stupid and there was more of them, they would have taken over the world long ago.

Again, it just makes no sense to have one as a horse. Even if they are "more tame," they are still stupid and one is going to scratch his head and kill his rider. Then he's going to smell blood and eat her. Or he's going to forget he's not supposed to eat her and eat her. Read the O&G description of trolls. The Stupidity rule is because DURING COMBAT they tend to wander off or start staring at a blade of grass. This is also why cow's don't make good mounts, cuz they just stand there eating grass even if you kick them and have the best saddle in the world.
