Afternoon all. I've a huge amount of German infantry wielding PPSH/ MP44 just out of the paint stripper. I was wondering if anyone knew of a list that incorporates them into the Cbt Pls. I know of one MW list from Eastern Front.

Sperrverband models have quite a few sturmgewehr 44 wielding models. But I haven't much experience with East front Grey Wolf etc.

I'm not sure if there is a list using politzei units for fighting partizans, they had a fair few SMG's. I might be wrong.

SS-Panzergrenadiers give you options to swap an MG team in the platoon for a Panzer-Faust SMG team?

I have no experience with Grey Wolf yet either.

In grey wolf, the Stug batterie tank company allows you to field a platoon of 3 squads of assault rifle teams, each of 3 teams plus the command. You can then use them as tank riders instead or just pay for tank riders for the stugs. Can't see any other units apart from grenadier scouts that can have assault rifles in any meaningful numbers. Security company can take one platoon of about four teams, that's it.

Thanks for the info though Exhumed. I don't plan on buy to much more German Armour. StuGs are awesome, but I've enough Panthers and Panzer IV Hs.

I was hoping for a MW or LW list to use them in, that's a bit disappointing.

Looking at it this way, assault rifles are really very good. To be able to field more than one platoon of them would be a bit overpowering against some lists. Sure, soviets can take swarms of SMG infantry, but they are usually quite easy to shoot up before they get to that magic 4" range. Hell, if you pin them down, you could assault them away before they even get a shot off in anger.
My experience with the older army books is a bit limited though, so if anyone knows of any midwar lists that pack lots of smg's etc for axis, I'd be interested to see them, too.

Is their a PDF of that list somewhere? I got 50 of the Assult rifle men and also iam running a PSC Stug company at the moment.

I found the Stug company list with the tank riders with the Assult rifles.It is in the Stalins Onsluaght book.For now i think i am going to keep running my list until i get my hands on some extra money to buy my 2 PSC PAnter boxes plus the BArkman set as a commmander.Then it looks like i will be incorporating them as a ally list.Also i may just run it in this weeks game just for a experiment.

Sorry did I call him a Nazi? I actually just meant innocent bystander. I mean you couldn't read into the above at all, he was actively against the Nazi machine whilst part of it...I'll say this for the man, he has good spin doctors.

EDIT - I wonder if he killed any of my Grandfather friends in the RAF whilst he was in the AA Corps? It is a personal affront to me that he is some amazing religious Leader. Maybe he could go to Argentina and meet up with all the other German War Criminals hiding there.

I found the Schnellschwadron (Rapid Sqn) to be the only one (Easter Front brief MW.). I can give the cbt platoons assault rifles for +10pts/ team. And they count as recce.

I did not see any pls in the above posted PDF for assault or SMG pls.

So MW, here I come.

Me personally i think that the Sturm company list (infantry based with lots of MGs x2 per squad instead of the usual one)Here is my favorite out of this book is the Stug company has Grenadier tank riders with assult riders.Heck i am think of giving this one atry for this weeks game.i finally get use all of them old Glory assult rilemen i have been saving.Even based them up last nite in preperation.Also if you can not afford the Red Bear book,look around ebay and find you a copy of Stalins onsluaght that is where i got the list fromeven my book real cheap.

I suggest that you keep them as they are for now. iirc, the Germans started equipping more formations with assault rifles late in the war. While there aren't many lists that use them right now, I suspect that may change once the Bulge lists start getting released.

And the first Bulge lists should start showing up within the next 2-3 months.

Thanks for all the feedback fellas. I am going to roll with the MW Schnellschwadron for now. When BoB is released, I can always move them over to a LW force.
