Phew. For a moment I thought I was going crazy. I guess Google needs to figure out where I am searching from. Thanks for being the light in this millennium of darkness.

They were ever since on average out of 3 codexes sold, one will have to be bought again because the damn thing can't stay together.

I've barely used my skaven codex, a section is already completely loose. Same with my tau codex, and my ork one. My chaos and marine codexes are magically %100 percent intact. Must be the power armor.

really?

i think i have around 20+ codexes, expansion books and rulebooks from the last 10+ years and i have never had a single page come out. a few dings, creases and maybe a cover tear but nothing ever fell out and i use them pretty often. My FoW V2 mini-rule book on the other hand... fell apart after 10 min of looking at it....

Yes really.

I've been told it's a glue issue. I take good care of my books, I have old 1st edition DND books that I still open and read, nothings wrong with them, except the one with the duct tape on it

Take it back to your local GW as that's clearly a defective product when the binding breaks like that. The vanilla codex is awful for that! When it first came out, we had a dozen of our first 20 sold come back within a couple of weeks because of that. We simply exchanged them for a new one.

Unless your book looks like it's been lost at the bottom of your school bag all year, you shouldn't have a problem. (it's pretty obvious when a book has fallen apart due to poor care on the owner's part!)

The new codices are much nicer with nylon string bindings that won't come undone in the heat(left one in the car on a hot day and ended up with every page falling out).

I'm beginning to think GW should default to displaying all currencies as "AUS$" or "CAN$" or "US$" because of this issue. Their attempt at detemrining location seems to have a lot of issues.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.

Nope 2012

I psychically predict 6th edition will see a move to hardcover codexes ala Fantasy v8.

Meh, I predict that 7th edition will be available ONLY via digital distribution making reselling codex no longer possible.

Model material will contain anti-degreasing agents thus making paint stripping not possible. Plus, Australia take over the world making all price for GW product jump 200%.

Haha yeah, I do it too but also to compare ebay prices to know whether I'm getting ripped off or not.

We wish . With wholesalers trying to screw us left right and centre we'll be poor as poor can be 2020 when the mining boom is over.

If you're a wholesaler and wonder why you're making a loss here, maybe it's to do with the fact that your prices are discriminative which is illegal in everything but business.

That's just silly. Why would GW switch to hardcover, when it's clearly more expensive, and such expenses would be passed...on...to...the players...

Hardcover is a revolutionary new material for book covers. It holds more detail, it's lighter and easier to assemble.

The introduction of hardcover once again proves that GW leads the world in HHHobby publishing.

That explains why my marine Codex is falling apart, yet my Ork one is still fine(despite being older and used more)

It clearly looks more expensive. Which is the whole point: the new army books cost marginally more to make, but seem much swankier, so naturally they cost half as much again as the softcovers.

Gets better, if the make them with an odd trim size it will be harder for pirate scanners. Granted it will only slow them down for like an extra hour but GW will totally justify 'oversized full color $50 hardcovers' as 'unscanable'.

Maybe the new codexes will come with big random holes in their pages that you need to fix with their "Codex patch kit".

Plus their covers will be bent all to hell and you'll need to straighten them out with a hairdryer.
