I have decided. I wanna make a Emperor Battle Titan. Also known as the Emperator Titan!

I called GW Customer Service and after a little talk I found that one of them whom was a big fan of titans says the model that I build should be 6ft tall and its Shoulders should be somewhere between 3-4 feet in length which means by my estimate the cathedral should take up somewhere around 2 feet in height if its 3-4 feet in length.

I have no idea how to even start this project but I know a lot of people who might be able to help me. But I also want additional input as well. Like ideas of where to get pictures of ALL of the weapon choices for the emperor titan. What the best possible selection of weapons ARE.

I wanna make this titan have the most possible amount of firepower possible with the ability to wipe out vehicles, other titans and especially hoards. I wanna make it a kill everything type of machine as possible so knowing what the cannons look like. Where they would be positioned onto the titan and what the best selection of stuff is would be a great help.

I know a lot of this is gonna be stuff probably like plywood and a wooden or metal frame etc but I am horrible at finding guides and stuff where people have built titans. Even if its a smaller titan the info could help me.

I don't know if the emperor titan is a titan itself or if the space wolves or blood angels would have their own titan in their colors. If so than knowing what colors to paint it if it has a special color scheme would be helpful too.

This is a very ambitious project and I love that. The biggest problem I forsee has nothing to do with building. Im assuming your not gonna be building this houseing-project with legs to make your living room look pretty which means youre going to be playing with it. To be blunt, no 40k player I know would fight an emperor titan for 4000 points.you will always go first because your setup time bid will be much MUCH lower then your opponent. If this happens.....you win, its that simple. That thing has pretty much every titan class weapon and it can fire them ALL..EVERY TURN! Plus, there is just no way to kill it unless you have 4000 points of vortex missiles.

Just my two cents

The Emperor titan would be reserved for 10,000 point games and once it is completed I would announce it to everyone within like 50 miles in all stores that we would be having a apocolypse game. Get tons of other stuff for the army like a awesome 6000 point army full of formations and other stuff too to compliment the titan.

ALSO! It would be for my store mainly. Sit in the corner somewhere and look amazing.

See I didnt know that you had a store that makes total sense now. And yeah there is no way I would play against an emperor titan unless it cost 10000 or more. Seriously there really is no point in fighting against it for any less because I will destroy the table in one turn. Think like 20k to 40k per side, and even then. Its that OP. How much previous scratchbuilding experience do you have? That will play a big factor in it. Also, I'd play against it if I could have a 1-2K extra army & since I play Elysians I'd bid 0 for my deployment and get first turn.

I'd start by looking up other titans people have scratchbuilt around the web & then talk to them to get an idea for materials & such. Closest I've ever gotten is a warhound & a bunch of Imperial Navy stuff for Apoc.

Yeah there have been people who have taken on this massive undertaking before qhite well. I have actually thought about doing one myself, but then I came back to reality hahaha. If I were you I would use the imperial bastions for its feet, they seem like they would fit the bill perfectly.

I have little experience but a friend of mine the guy who acts as store manager has had a lot of experience. Just not anything to the degree or level of building titans. Ork stompas yes.

I done lots of bits bashing and made a Ziggaraut terrain and I am in the middle of making a 40k table with a friend of mine.

So far I got that I need to get as many pictures as possible. So maybe google pictures of the guns? That is one of my main concerns. The others are the overall shape of the body.
Of course I will NEVER be able to do this alone so I will have to enlist the help of the best people I can find within my area possible to help me with this endevour.


Also...is it REALLY that overpowered? I read some of the rules on it and read the stuff for the guns but most of it is what I read in army builder and something I remember reading ages ago in a book. I mean one 4k model vs 10k of other stuff and from other people being on the table too. Is it that it can have all these guns and fire on seperate units around the board? Like fire one weapon at a players unit and fire all its other guns targeting other players units and tanks etc?

If so than I could see how it could just start wiping the map than.

Yes it is THAT over powered. Read this There is no way anyone could argue this isnt over powered. It has 6 titan weapons in addition to the 2 unholy-powerful emperor titan weapons. Read the plasma destructor stats. 3 ordanence 10 inch s10 ap2 templates.....FROM ONE WEAPON! and then theres the vengance cannon, 4 7 inch strength D ap 2, and remember strength D weapons have no center of blast. This is the only time you would actually want the template to scatter cuz you get four freakin shots.

Like I said before, I wouldnt fight this thing for anything less then 10000 points. There is no doubt it could wipe 4000 points off a table in one turn and not even have to fire all of its weapons

Also, titans are not owned by space marines, but are organized into titan legions. They have their own colours, which can be whatever you want. A couple of the weapons (vulcan mega-bolter, quake cannon and volcano cannon) can be made from the shadowsword/stormlord kit, FW makes gatling blasters, laser blaster, apocalypse missile launcher and the melta cannon. I personally wouldn't bother with the warhound weapons (apart from perhaps the mega-bolter), reaver and warlord titans both have more powerful versions.

I think the 6' size is far too large. 3' or so is more reasonable, 4' with the buildings.

The Emperor titan is at least twice as big as the Imperitor. If you look at the emperor titan datasheet from GW, you'll see that the emperor is like 4 or 5x bigger then the warhound, which stand 10 inches tall. The reaver is around 15-16 and the warlord around 20. Im not sure how the imperitor titan even got brought into this hahahaha.

There is no Emperor titan despite what the Apoc datasheet claims. Emperor is actually a "class" of titans that currently consist of the Imperator and the Warmonger. Both of these are pretty much the same size.

Thank you for the correction, learnin new stuff everyday.

Your going to want to make this in 6 sections. This is so that you can take it apart and move it safely. You will want the legs separate, the arms and ajoined shoulders separate the torso and pelvic region, and lastly the carapace. There was a british site that had I believe a dozen or so titans. . . Let me see if I can find it.

As for the titan itself, your making the ttg equiv of a human sized 25mm model so size wise go with an thick legged design for weight support, and weapon wise I like the gattling guns on the arm with volcano cannon on the other arm and some 3x turbo laser destroyers on the carapace.

There is a guy on dakka who did the 4 warhound project. I bring it up for the cool factorthat you could do led lights, working guns, etc. as well as crunch ideas with someone who has scrath built a titan or 2 before

On that note one of the mods made a thread a while back concerning titan scale. After doing my math the imp and emp titans stand about 4 feet, but this IS GW here so that changes a bit when they want.

As for fighting the dang thim, I would do the imp titan vs my 10,000 points, it should be about even then. NOW if you did a titan appc with a couple of this or just the 1 as the center piece of the titan formation then that would be epic.

On and just spoke of firepower, it has what 12! Void shields and lile 10 or so structure points. . .

So far I am getting a lot of good comments and stuff. I like the idea of building it into pieces. Maybe I will take hints from other GW models like that metal Bjorn I have who can be taken appart from the waist. Only I will do mine more study.

That way it can pivit on its waist lol.

I might also wanna do a lot of movable parts like the guns and stuff lol.

OH! And have a ton of space marines inside of it too lol.
