Personally I can see that there are some very valid reasons why people hate tau, but at least I try and make my force as grim ark as they can be. Heck. The back story for my caste is riddled with lots of dirty dealing and such. If there is something you don't like about a forces fluff, you can create your own minority group to do what you want them too.

My force has been the good guys working with many a race on different occasions, but on others, they don't even hesitate (or ask if they want the club premium) to burn planets to the ground looking for the resources they need for the empire to continue its warpath.
