I love all races and I find it somewhat silly that people become so mad. Big deal if that guy loves Ultramarines or if that chick plays Tau.

And don´t come with excuses like " THE ARE ANIMEZ!" Or our favorite classic "THEY AREZ OPED FLUFF!"

I think the hate for the army might come from hate for ever happens to be using them. That seems to be the most logical option.

Why would I hate other models?
I love them all, no matter the faction or race.
Every well painted miniature has it's "epicness" when you do it right. When I see good locking miniature, that is done quite well ( shading, detailes etc... ) I am always amazed, again - no matter if that miniature is Tau or Eldar or Guardsmen.

People that have that kind of attitude are not for this hobby.

Then again, if the player is acting like an idiot that is then entirely new level...

There's a difference between "ZOMG I HATE THIS" and "This could be better." Just because you dislike something doesn't make a meme spouting obese neckbeard. In fact, I'll have you know I'm both underweight and clean shaven.

And, I've already posted the different reasons why I think people dislike Ultramarines.

1. Fluff that's too over the top for Warhammer 40k.
2. Fluff that's too heroic and upbeat for Warhammer 40k.
3. The Nerd Hierarchy.
4. Band wagon people.
5. Jealousy of the army's attention.

Simply I don't. Likely it's done to make their own seem superior, or simply it's a view they've gathered from the background/models/playstyle or an irrational immature hatred simply because it's different.

1) Nobody hates someone else's models. That's just dumb.
2) People dislike things for "reasons", not "excuses".
3) Odds are those who actually hate an army are scrubs or poor sports, and best avoided.

I don't hate individual armies, only the douche bags who routinely make the game unfair by tailoring their lists to be as brutal as possible and leave my army with no way to even attempt to compete.

For example, I strongly dislike that GK's on paper are so heavily OTT vs my Daemons. It's unfair that a codex should litterly have auto-win buttons against just one specific opponent. When my friend & I play though, we agree to some base rules to make the game fun and entertaining for both of us;
- Warp Quake = 6" range
- Psychos can't be taken
- Clensing Flame only effects models in base-to-base contact
- Dark Ex does not effect a daemon prince's mark of chaos
- No tripplicate Elites allowed for Daemons
- No tripplicate Heavies allowed for Daemons

Now our games are sane and GK's can't feth over daemons so badly.
I'll still gladly refuse to play the morons who say things like, "Oh you actually play daemons?! Just wait, I've got a 'special' list for your OP army."

I don't hate "your" Cadians or "her" Tau...I hate the boxy look of Crisis battlesuits, Firewarrior helmets and shoulderpads, and the 'herp-derp' look of Cadian helmets. That's my opinion based on the models that GW have sculpted. I don't hate based on what players have, I hate based on what I find to be aesthetically displeasing. And that is my emperor-given, free right. And I don't think it makes me an idiot, an arse, or any other such thing. And if you think I am a jerk, just find love in your heart for ALL three of these things (fantasy included):
