Haven't played BT since their FAQ was updated, so I wanted to get ideas on this 2000 point list.

HQ 465 pts
Emperor's Champion, Abhor the Witch
Castellan, Terminator Armor, Storm Shield, Power Fist
4 Terminators, 2 Cyclone Missile Launchers, Tank Hunters

Elites 695 pts
5 Terminators, 2 Cyclone Missile Launchers, Tank Hunters
5 Terminators, 2 Cyclone Missile Launchers, Tank Hunters
Venerable Dreadnought, TL Lascannon, Missile Launcher, Tank Hunter

Fast Attack 420 pts
2 Landspeeder Typhoons
2 Landspeeder Typhoons
2 Landspeeder Typhoons

Troops 420 pts
5 Initiates, 4 bolters, 1 Missile Launcher
5 Initiates, 4 bolters, 1 Missile Launcher
5 Initiates (4 bolters, 1 meltagun), 3 Neophytes (shotguns)
5 Initiates (4 bolters, 1 meltagun), 3 Neophytes (shotguns)

27 Missile Launchers each turn
1 TL Lascannon
2 meltaguns
Venerable Dreadnought
14 Terminators
26 Initiates and Neophytes
Castellan and Champion
15 kill points

I usually go for mech lists but I think BT do better with hybrid or foot lists. My Terminators move forward as they shoot their Cyclones to get into the enemy lines, with the meltagun Squads moving behind to take objectives. Typhoons stay back with the Dread for enemy suppression.

Thoughts??

...Well, you've screwed yourself over if you ever end up in an objective-holding game with all the min/maxed Troops units, but I can't argue with 27 missile launcher shots per turn. I may need to get working on my 15-Dark-Reaper list...

Balanced Game: Noun. A game in which all options and choices are worth using.

In objective games my plan is to hold one or two objectives with my troops, and contest what I can with Terminator squads or my fast-moving speeders.

I think this list would play well against mech lists but suffer against hordes like orks or 'nids.

I haven't played Templars for about a year now, but I think this list is solid. It seems slow but strong. I always found that drop pods are the Templars bff, especially since they are not held to the turn one drop pod assault. Putting all of your drop pods in reserve to arrive on turn 2+ catches people off guard.
I think that you'll do fine against horde armies, given the appropriate use of terrain. Frag missiles will do a great amount of damage to a horde army from the perspective of placement.. So spaced out as they will be to avoid destruction, they'll be taking terrain tests almost every turn.

ALWAYS ANGRY! ALL THE TIME!

im not hateing but why do more BT players not try for assault armies? I prefer the assault myself, and i dont even want to hear they cant do it as well as someone else i havent met an army that BT can not beat in CC. The list seems fine but i would also have to agree DP is the way to go with Templar.

NO PITY!
NO REMORSE!
NO FEAR!

I have thought seriously about drop pods for this list, but figured if I wanted to get troops into the enemy's deployment area, I would just run my two large Troop squads behind the Terminators.

Though BT are more than capable of assaulting, I would rather force my opponent to have to come to me to deal with my massed long range shooting that he has to take out. One he gets close I can use my Terminators and Brethren to deal with what he has.

Some change but probably needed is going for lascannons on the crusaders, sometimes you need more than missiles.

Then transportation for your troops may be very helpful indeed.

With all that coversaves around in the 40k world i dont think that list has a future. moreover there is a similar Space Wolf list crusing around the web with around 30 Rocket lunchers
In addition you allways have to pass moraltest at leadership nine unless you shoot the nearest enemy. So one of 6 RL wont be able to Shoot the right target

How about this list --- it increases my number of troops and swaps some easy-to-kill Typhoon Speeders for 2 AC/LC Predators.

I know that cover saves abound in 40k. My goal with this list is to force the opponent to come to me. Sure, there will be lists that will still out-shoot me at range, but this list combines long-range Str 8 and 9 shooting with some mobility and plenty of anti-tank suppression.

Your typhoons are dirt cheap and you only need one model to get cover, keep them.

I would recommend playing your current list and then deciding as it is pretty awesome.

Would you mind loosing some termies for the 2 preds.
Preds would help the balance of the army so I can not disagree with that, I would personally go for the expensive lasbacks to look after scoring units whilst providing a trusty lascannon.

I like the list a lot. I run a similair list at 2500, but only use 3 5 man crusader squads with Las-plas and I win 75% of my games.

The dread is nice but I prefer preds for the extra tanks.

OK, so I made the changes referenced above, putting in an extra troop Squad and 2 AC/LC Preds. Ended up losing 4 of my Typhoon Landspeeders in the process, which I hate, but now I can shoot at more targets, have greater armor value, and have beefed up my troops on the field:

HQ 455 pts
Emperor's Champion, Abhor the Witch
Castellan, Terminator Armor, Storm Shield, Lightning Claw
4 Terminators, 2 Cyclone Missile Launchers, Tank Hunters

Elites 695 pts
5 Terminators, 2 Cyclone Missile Launchers, Tank Hunters
5 Terminators, 2 Cyclone Missile Launchers, Tank Hunters
Venerable Dreadnought, TL Lascannon, Missile Launcher, Tank Hunter

Fast Attack 140 pts
Landspeeder Typhoon (Typhoon ML and Heavy Bolters)
