So, I'm going to start a Space Wolves army.
Specifcally a Drop Pod force, Wolves are just the only Marine force I like at all, and is ultimately just a means to an end.
That end is to get as many drop pods on the field as I can, while still being a viablish list.

I would like to keep Bjorn as my HQ, and I want to keep as many pods as I possibly can at each points level (I realise I can probably achieve more pods with no Bjorn, but I like the idea of the old dread).
Otherwise everything is reasonably fluid as I haven't bought anything yet, suggestions and advice on tactics etc is welcome.

So this is the 1500pts list:
Spoiler:
1x Bjorn the Fell-Handed Bjorn w/ Plasma Cannon
2x 1 Dreadnought Dreadnought w/ Multi-Melta in a Drop Pod
4x 10 Grey Hunters Pack Grey Hunter w/ 2 Meltagun in a Drop Pod
3x 2 Long Fangs w/ Missile Launcher, 1 Squad Leader.

My current plan is deploy Bjorn and the 3 Long Fang squads, then drop 1-2 dreads and 1-2 hunters depending on whats about, then we just see what comes along later.
Dropping pods on objectives to contest them is also something I intend to do.

And the 2000pts list:
Spoiler:
1x Bjorn the Fell-Handed Bjorn w/ Plasma Cannon
3x 1 Dreadnought Dreadnought w/ Multi-Melta in a Drop Pod w/ Deathwind Missile Launcher
2x 10 Grey Hunters Pack Grey Hunter w/ 2 Meltagun in a Drop Pod w/ Deathwind Missile Launcher
2x 10 Grey Hunters Pack Grey Hunter w/ 2 Meltagun in a Drop Pod
3x 4 Long Fangs w/ Missile Launcher, 1 Squad Leader in a Drop Pod.

Plan for these is deploy Bjorn and the 3 Long Fang squads, then drop the 3 dreads and the 2 hunters in deathwind pods,
Then deploy the 2 remaining Hunter squads as they appear where needed, and drop the Fangs empty pods on any objectives / to screw with my enemy.

I'm sorry but, of course it's just my opinion, this is a fail-fail-fail setup.

I'm not telling you that Pods lists are an auto-fail (even if the problems you will encounter are a lot..) but the setups you posted aren't at all viable.

Starting from Bjorn.

I love Bjorn, I use him in my gun-line list and I'm a supporter but what he's supposed to do in your list?

On mech lists he's actually a nice HQ becasue is a solid fire-magnet, a free object in the right situations but most of all is a 75% chances to start first.

Using Pods you don't need this, actually this will only cause you problems.

Besides, another HUGE error points wise, in both your lists you selected a pair number of Dop Pods. I would take 1, 5 or 7. No more, no less.

Definetly Space Wolves aren't at all the good army for a Pod list imho, regular Vanilla Marines, with some Pedro+Vulkan combo especially, may be what you're looking for,

Just IE

HQ - Pedro Kantor. 175
HQ - Vulkan He'Stan. 190
EL - 10x Sternguards - 6x Combi-meltas - Drop Pod. 315
EL - 10x Sternguards - 6x Combi-meltas - Drop Pod. 315
EL - 10x Sternguards - 6x Combi-meltas - Drop Pod. 315
TR - 10x Tactical Marines - Combi-flamer - Flamer - ML - Drop Pod. 215
TR - 10x Tactical Marines - Combi-flamer - Flamer - ML - Drop Pod. 215

Already 1740pts this way, up to you what to add.
You'll may expand your troops (you already have potentially 10 scoring units if combat squadding) or add some Fast Attack choices like HF/MM Speeders, bikes etc...

I would need 9 to drop 5 turn 1, once I filled everything else I simply filled the remaining with pods.

The point of this army will be Drop Pods.

I have a good dislike for marines in general, the exception being Space Wolves.

Where's this huge points error?
I've got it all done by equations in excel, I just checked each sum and it seems to have come up sound.

Bjorn just does not perform for the points, get rid of him and beef up your fangs.

I still think Razor lists are much better.

Drop Deathwind Launchers. Don't know if they cost the same in Wolf lists, but... inefficient use of points, imo.
