So with my birthday at the end of the month, I will be buying a ticket for £120 from GW Belfast.

This ticket gets me and anyone else who bought a ticket a coach ride from Belfast to Dublin where we pick up any in Dublin who bought a ticket. Then we take a ferry to Wales and coach up to Warhammer world! Where we get a 1000pts 40k doubles tournement, breakfast and lunch. in bugman's, a Black Library visit to meet the authors, a guided tour of the place, a FW weathering masterclass and a visit to the gallery.

Then we get coaches a ferries back home stopping along the way for laser quest or bowling or something.

Yes, you may facepalm in jealosy. All the above is covered by my £120

Now , what I really want is a FW model(s). I can't decide what to buy. I was hoping the good men and women of dakka, would please suggest some things for me? I want something for one of my current 40k armies. I play Draigowing GK, Blood Ravens Vanilla Marines and Tyranids. Factoring in my expenses from my £200 budget I have

200-120 for ticket=80
80-10 for spending money on another trip = 70
70-10 for dinner for above = 60
60+~10=~£70.

So with a budget of about £70, what should I buy?

Problem is, whenever these threads crop up there's usually a lot of reticence on the part of the poster to take the suggestions into account.

Now, you say you play these three armies. Draigowing needs practically nothing Forge World, Blood Ravens have no "specific" stuff for themselves, and Tyranids have a few choice bits here and there.

Are you wanting something to use as a "showcase" model for your army or are you looking to get something which will actually be fielded constantly on the tabletop?

Honestly, if you've arleady looked around, and can't decide, I would suggest saving your money.

Or wait until you get there and impulse buy! It's always more fun that way.

Sorry. I want something to field, but a making it a showcase too. Mostly I just want to rub forgeworld in my friend's face. He always gets better models because he has money to spare. I am a better painter though. This is my chance to get him back. He made a big deal of showing off his Shadowsword.

I was orginally thinking a Land Taider Redeemr GK upgrade pack, but with 2 LR, one of which is a Redeemer, I don't think I need it. Once I got past that I got indecisive.

Are you 100% set on it being a single model, or would you be willing to buy a few smaller things which can be used to up the quality of a few specific models?

Really, I am looking for anything. My one condition is that is must be FW-y. I don't want just a regular model converted. If I could I would want a fully FW model or unit.

If I could get a single large model like a vehicle or MC That would be my first choice, but if a squad or so would better suit me, that would do me just fine too.

Again, thanks for the support.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/GREY-KNIGHTS-TANK-COMMANDER.html

That's one option, as something for your Grey Knights. All that comes out to 48 GBP, which leaves some meat on the bone for you to pick another small thing or just save the money for something else.

http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/INQUISITOR-LORD-HECTOR-REX-AND-RETINUE.html is an option, and a fantastic one in my opinion. Rex is a gorgeous model.

For Tyranids, there's quite a few options--but most are outside of your price range. What you can consider, however, is things which can double as objective markers!
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Tyranids/MIEOTIC-SPORE-SACKS.html are something I've seen as objective markers before.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/Tyranids/TYRANID-MALANTHROPE.html This is a nice piece, which although not really a "gamey" piece is something highly characterful and looks gorgeous painted.
Then there is the Hive Tyrants, Carnifexes, etc.

Blood Ravens don't have too much in the way of options.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/MAGISTER_SEVRIN_LOTH-CHIEF-LIBRARIAN-OF-THE-RED-SCORPIONS-WITH-HONOUR-GUARD.html is one, despite the Red Scorpions title.
Sevrin has no iconography molded directly onto him.
The Red Scorpion bits are few and far between(mostly in the form of shoulderpads) and the set includes an entire Command Squad box.
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/BLOOD-RAVENS-TRANSFER-SHEET.html is also an option. It will give you everything you need for an entire army.

Thanks for all of the suggestions between all of you. I will take a look at all of them. Again thanks.

Ok, so having looked through the suggestions I have made some cuts. Just on the ones I don't want to consider.

The spores. I don't have their rules and I have plenty of objective markers, even some nid ones from Battle for Maccragge.

Secondly, I don't really want to consider the preheresy Assault Squad. While very awesome and potetial VVs, I really want something that can be different on the tabletop from what I already have. Thank you for your contribution though

Trondheim and GT, I will consider your Contemptor Suggestion. It will be competing with Kanluwen's GK dread though so I am not sure which I would rather have. Thank you though.

Kanluwen.

All.of your suggestions were great bar the spores, but that's ok.

Rex is a beautiful.model as you said but I am.not sure he is right for me.

Sevrin Loth is again a beaut, but I don't really have anyyhing for him to do other than be a display. I have plenty of Capatains/CMs and really don't need another. I also could use him as a libby, but frankly Vanilla Libbies aren't to my taste and my other armies have enough psykers to get me through. His honour guard are also very nice but the Scorpian iconography on the guards slightly discourage me.

The Malanthrope is again tempting but his sheer size means he will be nothing more than a display piece except when IA is allowed. Also I am not sure how good he would look in Behemoth colours.

Do far the best suggestion has been the GK dread or the contemptor, though I am not sure why the tank commander is there. They would go hand in hand with the transfers and is very tempting.

Everyone I would just like to say thank you again and apologise for being so picky. I realise it must seem like I am simply dismissing ideas. In a way I am, but I wish to apologise for it. This is probably my first and last purchase from FW for a long time, so I just want to get something awesome.

I think the Malanthrope looks fine in Behemoth colours. Here's mine

It's not really that big, I use it in normal games every so often as a Doom of Malantai.

I'm not a huge fan of Forgeworld. I don't see a lot of games where Forgeworld stuff is allowed, and the few times I have seen it allowed, I didn't think it was well balanced. In addition, I think their stuff is pretty expensive for what amounts to a fig with rules that may or may not be accepted, and which may or may not even be usable under WYSIWYG as a counts-as model. I'm not tryint to be a downer, I'm seriously being cautionary. You want to know what you should get, and I think that if I were you I would get nothing. If you do get something, get some of their nice decorative bits that you know you'll be able to use for sure.

That is a very nice Malanthrope. Well painted. I have also considered a count as Doom.

So I have made a descision. I will get a GK Vendread and make it a Doomdread (Dreadnought with Doomfist). While I play Dragowing and GK in general, that's just for my preference. I don't want a sterotypical Draigo+Pallies+Psyflemen list. Besides, Doomdreads are more CC orientated and work great in a Raven. I will also give a psycannon which will be an Assault Cannon with Psybolts.

I am also going to pick up some Blood Raven Transfers.

As I have redone some budgeting, I can now have up to £28.50 to spare.

My next purchase depends on the answer to this

Does anyone know how much the Bugman's souvenier costs in GBP?
