Subject: Predator as Vindicator and Mines of Moria versus Fellowship

Has anyone tried converting a Predator to a Vindicator? My gripes with the vindie is the demolisher cannon itself: I just don't like how it looks. So I was thinking how about a cannon mounted on top instead of in the middle? A predator kit would be a nice place to start, not to mention I can magnetize it for other pred options. There's only the question of the cannon itself ad what bits would I use. Has anyone ever tried this? If so, can you show me photos?
Another question: is the Mines of Moria box worth it? I am mostly buying one for the Fellowship models, but the ones in the MoM are, let's just say of lesser quality than the fellowship of the Ring set. What MoM has is additional goblin miniatures and trolls (and I'm not really interested in starting LotR the game since I don't have anyone to play with, for starters). So just asking opinion: should I buy the Mines of Moria box or the Fellowship one?
Thanks a bunch.

Something like this maybe? I'm fairly certain you could work out a Leman Russ Demolisher turret somehow, that would look neat.

You can make most of the components swappable but it will take some time and effort to get right, You could set up the vindicator top and front armor plates to swap out with the regular plates and vice versa, but I haven't really seen a multi use model at all.

I saw a cool conversion where a dude put the predator turret and side sponsons on a vindicator (Ie, extra armor, cannon and dozer blade).
Looked pretty epic.

Oooh, yes the LR demolisher cannon might do the trick. Or I can go Forgeworld like Redfinger suggested.
Hm, other option includes this: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer-40000/MODIFIED-RYZA-PATTERN-LEMAN-RUSS-DEMOLISHER-TURRET.html it'll be cheaper than buying a LR Demolisher (that no one ever buys in my local gaming group so I can't trade the Demolisher Cannon)

You could always post a thread in the Dakka Swap Shop - that's how I got my Russ turret for a scratchbuilt tank.
