For my next 40k army, I'm converting up lots of Warlocks and a Farseer onto jetbikes for a new Alaitoc Eldar army. So far, I have a good start on these 2 Warlocks with Singing Spears. The metal models were hacked apart by a hobby knife, some snippers, and a drill to help get through the thickest part of the models. None of the joints are pinned, it's just glued together.

Here's my work so far:
Spoiler:

Heres a reference image of the warlock I cut up:
Spoiler:

(note: I don't own the image, just for reference)

I cut the warlocks spear off the body from the hand, and where it attaches to the leg, and carefully rounded it out. I bent the arm that holds the spear, and reattached the spear to the hand. I cut the the other robed arm with the shuriken pistol free from the hair and the body, removed the pistol, repositioned it and added some bits from the guardian jetbike arm to make it hold on the jetbikes. The models are cut off at the torso and glued to the Guardian Jetbike rider legs. I also bent the warlock's hair tassle behind him, to flow in the wind better.

I am planning on sculpting some robes on the legs with puddy, that will be a fun/difficult job when I get to that.

I'm just looking for advice on modeling the warlocks cloaks, greenstuffing, etc. I'm actually gonna be using "brown stuff," which I heard has a longer work time than green stuff. We'll see, I've actually only used plumber's epoxy putty for modeling in my past.

Exactly how I planned on doing mine.

Nice conversion job! Well, done, Ilike the riders and the leaning bikes. Makes them look zoomy-er!

i started work on my Jetbike Farseer as well! It's a deceptively simple conversion, although the cutting, hacking, drilling and excessive filing to get it to fit right was not so simple. However, I prefer using the actual models over having to sculpt or heavily convert, so I am very happy with the result so far! I'll only need moderate "Brownstuffing" to fill the gaps of the Seer's cloak, and then to give him the lower half of his robes over the legs.

Here's the edits to the Farseer model:

Spoiler:

First I drilled holes through the model in 4 points, to make clipping at the model easier (no way could i cut through the 3/8" or thicker pewter, in some places, with clippers). Then, a crafty combination of various tools eventually got the required slot to fit on the legs filed out and fitting right. I also modified his legs a little, as eventually they were FAR easier to cut than filing away small bits of pewter.

Also, beware the dangers of metal flying when extreme pressure is used to cut through a model like this with clippers. I only used extreme pressure to cut when I had a solid grasp with the pliers, and kept my hands off the model itself, but once the cut was made, a piece of his robe flew and ricocheted off of my glasses, it could have been bad. So, USE CAUTION!

On a side note, clipping a triangle or square out of metal like this tends to bend the sides farther apart, this happened with the warlocks, too. Luckily, this worked out to my advantage, I like the added flair to the cloak - it helps it appear to billow in the wind.

... And the model fitted into place and glued on the jetbike:

Spoiler:

I think my favorite effect this conversion has is how recognizable the model is, still. I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for this little guy, first Farseer I had back in 3rd ed, and now he's on a bike!

....

Also, I tried sculpting robes for the first time. They're lumpier than I wanted, I need a better smooth tool for polishing down the robes, plus I didn't give myself enough time to really smooth it out once the puddy got much firmer.

Spoiler:

EDIT: Is this post in the wrong forum? I was looking for advice on modeling them, but also wanted to show updates on my work.
