Apparently introductions are the thing to do. I'm bad at the written introduction thing, so if you have any specific questions, feel free to ask.

My relationship with Games Workshop goes back many years, and many more dollars. I'll post my gaming history in bullet points.

- Started playing 40k during the second edition, sometime around 1994/1995. Never really felt the need to go into any other GW game system, or any other game system in general.
- I hate, HATE Dark Angels. My regular opponent back in second edition played them. F**king terminators and their 3+ save ON TWO DICE... Yes, 15 years on, I'm still bitter. You would be too.
- My first army was Eldar, and I still use them. I've moved on to the newer models, with a few exceptions.
- I had to take a break from the game starting in late 2009, when I started law school here in DC. Now I'm looking to get back into it.
- I like fluffy armies. That said, winning is fun too. But I don't play solely to win. I play to have fun. So no tournaments for me (well, no GW sanctioned ones).
- I like long walks on the beach, the GW Finecast range, the feel of dead space marines under my boots, and the smell of fusion guns in the morning.
- I had a small side army of Chaos a few years ago, but then, who DOESN'T get tempted by the dark gods every now and then?
- I'm in the DC area, so if anyone wants to game, PM me.

6th Ed Eldar - 4/2/5

"The warhost on the hill was one of the most bizzare sights I had ever seen on a battlefield... Xenos, daemons and humans collected together in units together, gripping dice and paintbrushes; Orks, humans and creatures for which I had no name, clad in ancient armour and clothing; steam-powered walkers with antique-armoured assistants; and many bizarre war-machines, many of which had no purpose that I understood.
An Eldar, bizarrely dressed in a customised suit of power armour and standing on a shield borne by two servants, was carried forth out of the crowd. Raising his Daemon weapon, he shouted three abrupt words:
"Thin! YOUR! PAINTS!"
With that, every member of the warhost screamed out their own battlecry; only a few that I heard were "WOLVES FOR THE WOLF GOD, WOLVES FOR THE WOLF THRONE!", "METAL BAWKSES!", and, strangest of all, "CREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!". However, after a few seconds, all these shouts were replaced with a single, simultaneous battlecry:
"DAKKA DAKKA DAKKA! 'ERE WE GO, 'ERE WE GO, 'ERE WE GO!" Upon shouting this, the entire army charged down the hill, guns blazing." - extract from the report of Colonel Montague, Cadian 12th, on the "Gugalle Incident".

IceAngel wrote:I must say Knightley, I am very envious of your squiggle ability. I mean, if squiggles were a tactical squad, you'd be the sergeant. If squiggles were an HQ, you'd be the special character. If squiggles were a way of life, you'd be Doctor Phil...

Hey,welcome to dakka. Killing terminators can still be a measure of how effective your unit is. So you can still be bitter if you like.
