I would really love to know where that chest piece is from. Also, these guys look really good. You should post them again when they're painted.

Ah, yeah...it's definitely from that kit. It's this piece specifically.

I'm still tracking down that chest piece, mainly because I'm not familiar with it and I suddenly *need* to know... Thanks though Doc!

I added an arm to him, trimmed up his back pack and put a new head on him. I added some minor battle damage across his armor as well that'll be touched up later. He'll also be getting the following shield:

Once I get the shield, his left arm will be carved out smoothly and than the gap covered up by the shield, as though holding it at his front/side. I haven't carved him out yet because I need to ensure it's scaled properly.

Thanks! The inspiration for this came from a piece of artwork in the Tau codex, and I'd wanted to do something with Coteaz from the day I saw the figure, but something like this in pewter would have been a nightmare. When I saw that he was being done in Finecast, I knew I had to give it a try. It has issues, no doubt, but it opens up a ton of possibilities for conversions.

The rear is indeed the back of a PAGK and the front is from the Blood Angels Death Company set. It normally has crossbones behind the skull on the chest, and blood drop decorations on the lower armor plate. I cut all that extra stuff off and trimmed down the lower armor plate so it wouldn't hit the tabard from the PAGK legs. It's #8 on the sprue here: http://www.games-workshop.com/MEDIA_CustomProductCatalog/m1000155a_99120101084_DeathCompanySprue2_873x627.jpg

lol, I don't think I said that, but I appreciate the compliment and the laugh I got from it. And see above for the identity of the chest piece. Hope it helps and sets your minds at ease!

Also, something I've been waiting for and GW just announced is the Masters of the Chapter being done in Finecast(and a crapload of others). Mmmmmmm. Conversions...

I was really hoping that it wouldn't be too huge! I know that it will be rather big, I'm hoping it's just not disproportional. Hard to find any good comparison's online.

Got a few conversions here...

AoBR SM captain- head and raised collar removed, left gun removed, Mk6 beaky DA head added (with wings) after opening up the relief at the front of his collar.. Plasma pistol left hand, right arm is a tactical marine forearm, the hand/sword is from a Ravenwing Vet.Sgt. I added some DA bitz on the front to hide all the normal SM brooches and whatnot, and gave him a Sang Guard winged jump pack. Pretty happy with him, and he sees a lot of tabletop time killing vehicles with meltabombs...

And this is my Belial- he's made with a normal Terminator body, raised up a few mms at the waist, and his left leg was cut off at the hip and moved forward to make him look like he's striding into battle. Left arm is a normal Term Sgt powersword cut to be raised up in the air, with the blade reprofiled to look like Azrael's one (they came from the same meteorite, so should look similar?). Shoulderpads are plasticard, he's rocking an iron halo, and i cut sections into the back of his armour for the sang guard wings. Oh, and there's the greaves on the front of his legs, made from big DA winged angel icons, which were bent and superglued around the legs (which were carved back a fair bit) after being heated. The splits where they bent were filled with GS. Never doing anything like that job again, uhh! He still needs some paintwork to be done, and i have a DA symbol for his chestplate, hence why its not completed yet. Also, sorry for the terrible photos...

Rhino, converted to a Deathskull looted wagon with Boomgun! Used some opened up rhino top hatch doors to craft the raised section, and lots of cool reinforcing struts and stuff from my bitz box to make it look crudely built.. leman russ turret, with LR side sponson pieces used to make a blast shield, and Killa Kan 'pogo leg' pieces glued on the sides as recoil suppresors... possibly my most favourite conversion yet!

And this little WIP- its based on Irondog's DoW Wartrakk template, i've just narrowed mine, and added a rokkit boy for a driver (he loads new rokkits from his backpack . I also used Deffkopta rotor blades for the platform that the driver's plate mounts on, as its got loads of cool overlapping metal plates and rivets.Going to build three, with a bit more help from my friend eBay
