After playing Space Marine a few months ago I was left wondering: why is there no mention of Captain Titus anywhere else in the fluff? (Or perhaps there is and I've missed it...)

Or possibly it takes place at some other point in time than 999.M41.

The Ultramarines roster given in the 5th edition codex is at 999.M41. The video game can take place over the entire thousand years of the 41st Millennia.

THQ said they basically created an alternate 40k universe for the game.

In the game Space Marine by THQ, when the Blood Ravens show up near the end of the game, the voice dialog for Cpt. Titus he greets them and says something about having them show the enemy the fury the Blood Ravens showed in the Aurelian Campaign. So much like its release date one can say that this happens after the events of DoW3 Retribution. If THQ games are a timeline and canon unto only themselves then there we are.

As far as im concerned Captain Sicarius died and Titus is his replacement (or I wish it would be so, Sicarus is annoying as hell).

Captain Titus was wiped off of all Imperial records for accusations of Heresy. Sad really, how an upstart space marine falsley incriminated an innocent man who would die for his cause. But then I remember I'm a fervent Chaos player.

He was taken by the inqusition because he was immune to the corrupting effects of chaos so he wouldnt be mentioned anywhere after that. He would have been shamed and executed for heresy (the rubber glove of purity is a nasty way to go)

Are we sure he was executed? What if there's a space marine 2 and he's been pulled in by the inquisition? Realizing that it's nigh to impossible with the inquisition but one can hope =[

The Inquisition aren't stupid...
They have just happened upon a highly trained and effective warrior who is immune to the most insidious force in the universe...

Yes but the problem with the inquisition is there are so many differant inquisitors. What if he was taken by a religious nut and not a level thinker

I mean that with the inquisition if it looks like a heretic it can stand the warp like a heretic and his battle brother's feel he's a heretic he's probably not making it back to mcragge. That said I COMPLETELY agree with you that they have a catch. Titus probably belonged in the grey knights imo and is a stalwart space marine but with the evidence against him he probably won't be slaying the enemies of the emperor much longer =[ (though I want him back LOVED him =D)

and then Leandros came around....

I thought that, not sure though! Then they would have to go way in depth with the death watch and have a bunch of boring crap about him being interrogated
Might be cool to see him turn chaos though - "the false emperor doesn't protect from my size 44 up someone's inquisitorial !" Then he grows horns turns into a daemon and badaboombadbing khorne's got a new best buddy

I have to agree with the other guy, most sources in the net point out that Space Marine took place in an alternate universe in WH40k wherein Titus replaced Sicarius as the captain of the 2nd. Should have made Titus the replacement of Sicarius in my opinion, that douche really has to go

There are plenty of marines who have been knee-deep in corruption and come out clean. It might be the minority, but the inquisition doesn't always kill you if you're exposed to chaos/have a glitch.
