Hi all,

I really want to field some warbuggies but hate the models. In fact I hated the models when I first played 40k 10 years ago (gave up after a month or so as had no patience or skill at painting). It may just be a personal dislike. Since starting again 6 months or so ago (much more patience, painting skill growing) I've been checking out ways to make buggies but most seem to either be 1. more like trukks (too big) or 2. made from koptas, wheels and plasticard.

My problem with 2. is that I have never used plasticard (but could if I had too), and that I don't want to buy a truck kit, or similar, just for wheels (are these available by themselves from bits stores, they seem to always be out of stock?)

I'm very tempted to get a few (or more) tauros assault vehicles from FW and konvert them into buggies, they look about the right size and would fit with my waaargh!'s fluff as my looted wagons are konverted IG tanks. This said I can't find the dimensions for the assault vehicle so don't know if it's viable. Can anyone see a problem with doing this (apart from the expense..... it will take me alot of time to get a few squads, a few months at least of not buying anything else to spread the cost).

Any other suggestions more than welcome, in fact encouraged

Cheers,

DacGerm

p.s. is there any news of GW revamping these models anytime in the near future?

Not sure if you would want to make all your warbuggies from these but I can imagine a bunch of Orky bits and some SM Attack Bikes would work. There would probably be alot of converting required but I can picture the end result looking pretty good.

Do as an ork would: find a suitable vehicle, of a suitable scale, and add stuff until it looks good an' proppa'. I usually see cheap toy cars and trucks used. If I where you, I would bring a special "travel figure" wherever you go to test the scale, and get what looks good.

I always worry about Nurgle players. When you tell them "Your models make me want to vomit" they just smile and say "thanks"

Theres a tutorial on this site somewhere about turning a Deff Kopta into a warbuggy. Check the Tutorials and Articles on the site.

Get a Deff Kopta then a set of wheels. I've seen Lego wheels used, GW Ork wheels, or various third party company wheels used.

Someone on another forum made buggies using Space Marine Land Speeders:

Take whatever vehicle you find, then break it, step on it, and then put it back together. Use spare bits to partially cover up weld repairs and bolt on weapons. Nobody likes a neat Trukk.

'What do you do with it?'
"We CLUB people with it."
