Self Explanatory.
At 1000 points, assuming full tourney "WAAC" lists, what does your list fear most?
As space wolves MSU I fear full 10 man BA assault squads with priests. Just not enough shooting or CC ability to deal.

I hate hard counters. In a game of rock, paper, scissors, I hate playing any of the factions because no matter what you choose you might as well not deploy against your hard counter. I want to use a gun. Rock, paper, and scissors could all probably still beat gun, but gun will never feel like a game is a lost cause. |

If I fear a particular unit/build more than any other then I have failed at buidling a good list.

I just played 1000 points, and while being silly and using way to many Chaos bikers (I was not playing WAAC) and looking up to see 3 mobs of boys, 6 killer kans, a warboss, and some sort of Elite..I knew i was way out numbered, and thought it would end fast...but one Defiler and everything went my way

This is my particular take on the subject, however this is difficult to do at 1000 points.
For example, most all-comers will not be able to take that 3 LR list or 3 Monoliths

Armies that are either extremely foot slogging hordes, or extremely mechanized. I can deal with slow or fast lists, but either too much infantry or too many tanks ruins my day. Especially razor spam.

Guys. DE can have plenty of lances and venom spam at 1k.
Also, I'd be afraid of a full load of Crisis Suits ... never mind the 9 b-sides im2random mentioned ... that is too easily dealt with by scouts, ymgarls, fleet units or BA jumpers. But, 9 or so XV8s, with JSJ - that'd spoil me pantaloons.

This basically. Hordes have the general advantage at lower levels which eventually balances out.

I'm not just saying this due to being a tau player, but they are able to pack a scary amount of firepower into 1000pts. They don't scale up very well, with 1500 being the largest they can get and still be competitive, then a gap, and then some strong apoc units.
That area in between (1750-3000) is not good for them.
